With the courage of our doctors and nurses, with the skill of our scientists and innovators, with the determination of the American People, and with the grace of God, WE WILL WIN THIS WAR. When we achieve this victory, we will emerge stronger and more united than ever before!

Hmmm.
Correct spelling, proper punctuation, nothing about Fake News or Do-Nothing Democrats. No way on earth he wrote that.

I think I'll send a memo to Trump thanking him for showing the rest of the world just how stupid a majority of Americans are.

When he couldn't have done more u-turns on the disease and been more useless and spiteful than he has, his approval rating for handling the outbreak is at 49%, against 44% who disapprove.

At the same time, his overall approval rating is at the highest level since about 3 hours after inauguration.
If it means anything...

While his approval rating did increase temporarily, in part due to his supposed handling of Covid-19, a recent poll has shown his approval rating has dropped (possibly due to his plans to re-open the economy early).

Trump has decided against quarantining NY, NJ, et al. Someone finally must have convinced him that HE decided against it.

So while the entire planet is in the middle of battling a health crisis, this ******* a-hole continues to stir up some fresh **** in his country every few hours just to keep himself entertained?

I see Trump is still playing at being a 'war' president. Good thing he had all that military training...in his military prep school where he was sent for misbehaving.

Thank you for your service, Cadet Bone Spurs.

Trump didn't write that tweet. I'd bet my soon-to-arrive portion of $2Trillion on it.

ETA: I think I'm in third place on this.

That's some good news.

On the recommendation of the White House CoronaVirus Task Force, and upon consultation with the Governor’s of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, I have asked the @CDCgov to issue a strong Travel Advisory, to be administered by the Governors, in consultation with the Federal Government,” Trump announced late Saturday on Twitter. “A quarantine will not be necessary. Full details will be released by CDC tonight.

This entire episode was unnecessary. Absolute worst president we have ever had. No other president even comes close. The absolute pits. Like De Niro said, we have a whack job as president. :(
Hey, you see an incompetent president, I see a brave leader who saved the U.S. from a quarantine!

Granted, it was one that he himself was suggesting, but he still saved them from it!

So New Zealand cannot claim to be morally superior for not getting "into that whole slavery thing".

That's why I put it up as an asterisk point - I know all that.

In fact, what I find notable is how little of a bump he's gotten. His approval rating went up what? less than 10 points? BFD.

Sure, but it should have gone down. The clown had to do a complete u-turn on what he'd claimed only days earlier.

One swallow and all that, but I'll wait until I see a broad push against him before I start to praise Americans for opening their eyes after three years of that fat **** running the country. His approval rating should be limited to the insane 10% or so evangelicals.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Take his ramblings and make a coherent sentence out of them.
Actually:
1) Let Trumpy ramble incoherently about whatever
2) Nod in agreement with Da Boss while he rambles
3) Type something completely unrelated but inflammatory into twitter because he doesn't read it anyway
4) Hit Send on the twitter poop-cannon.

It should be. If he gets re-elected, I'll join you in your assessment. But then again, I've always thought a large portion of this country is inhabited by idiots. Thank goodness I live in a very blue area or I'd go nuts.

Interesting update in the Grauniad. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/mar/28/trump-coronavirus-politics-us-health-disaster

'A total vacuum of federal leadership’

In the absence of a strong federal response, a patchwork of efforts has sprouted all across the country. State governors are doing their own thing. Cities, even individual hospitals, are coping as best they can.

In an improvised attempt to address such inconsistencies, charitable startups have proliferated on social media. Konyndyk has clubbed together with fellow disaster relief experts to set up Covid Local, an online “quick and dirty” guide to how to fight a pandemic.

“We are seeing the emergence of 50-state anarchy, because of a total vacuum of federal leadership. It’s absurd that thinktanks and Twitter are providing more actionable guidance in the US than the federal government, but that’s where we are.”

Valerie Griffeth is a founding member of another of the new online startups that are trying to fill the Trump void. Set up by emergency department doctors across the country, GetUsPPE.org seeks to counter the top-down chaos that is putting frontline health workers like herself in danger through a dearth of protective gear.

I'm adding a couple of special utterances to this list to help crystallize the spectacular degree of imbecility on display from this dangerous clown. I do this for the noble purpose of rubbing it in the face of cultists, toadies, JAQers, enablers, and other deplorables documenting these important facts for posterity.

Jan 22: We have it totally under control ... it's going to be just fine.

Jan 24: It will all work out well.

Jan 30: We have it very well under control. We have very little problem in this country at this moment — five. And those people are all recuperating successfully.

Jan 31: We pretty much shut it down coming in from China.

Feb 10: Looks like by April, you know, in theory, when it gets a little warmer, it miraculously goes away.

Feb 19: I think the numbers are going to get progressively better as we go along.

Feb 23: Very much under control.

March 2: It's very mild.

March 6: I didn't know people died from the flu.

March 7: I'm not concerned at all.

March 26: This whatever they want to call it. You call it a germ, you can call it a flu, you can call it a virus. You know, you can call it many different names. I'm not sure anybody even knows what it is.

This emperor is so bare naked, it's a wonder his skin contains his internal organs.

So what we need is:
1. Courage
2. Skill
3. Determination
4. Grace of God (sure)

How about some goddamn masks?

Trump wants to be the next Winston Churchill, I think. What Trump doesn't get is that in addition to inspirational speeches, Churchill actually did things.

I think that's because morally, we absolutely are.

I'll back our history against any other country in the world. First to allow women the vote, first with universal suffrage, designers of the first true welfare state, protested against both American and French nuclear testing and weapons, instrumental in bringing the end of Apartheid, dropped no drones on innocent parties and have started exactly zero wars, although we were first to join Britain in WWII - when did your lot join, by the way?*

Yeah, I agree we have the absolute right to consider ourselves morally superior to every other country on the planet. The fact that our PM probably rates as the world's favourite politician doesn't hurt, while yours is last doesn't do our rep much harm either.

We have the best rugby team in the universe as well. And happen to hold the America's Cup.

* we never got into that whole slavery thing at any stage, either, although we did kill a lot of whales, to our shame.

New Zealand Exceptionalism.
