People are dying and the dems do this. It's literally the definition of evil. We've never seen a crisis like this before and they are funneling millions to their friends while withholding funds to people that actually need the resources.

Republicans had a deal until Nancy Pelosi rode into town from her extended vacation. The Democrats want the Virus to win? They are asking for things that have nothing to do with our great workers or companies. They want Open Borders & Green New Deal. Republicans shouldn’t agree!

This is the way the @nytimes finished a story on me. “You can see the contrast between the steady, assured, informed and strong leadership that VP Biden (Sleepy Joe) has shown, and the bungling, chaotic and dishonest start-stop approach that Mr. (not Pres.) Trump has shown....

....us since the beginning of this crisis.” They meant the opposite? Forgot to mention that I closed our Country to China (and Europe) very early, long before it was considered acceptable to do so. Sleepy Joe said I was “xenophobic”, but I saved thousands of lives! Fake News!

“In fact, the highly critical quote in question came from the chair of the Texas Democratic Party not NY Times reporter (or editorial staff - my addition). In the final paragraph, the Times clearly attributed to Texas Democrat Gilberto Hinojosa an opinion on why Biden’s approach is preferable to Trump’s.l

Apparently Trump assumes a newspaper quoting someone in a news story is the same as promoting those views. And ignores all the instances the Times quoted Trump himself. But I can understand his confusion given that is how Fox and company work.

Wonder who told him this steaming pile of manure... Suck-up Pence? Miller? Whats-her-name the raving (non-)Press Secretary? Probably not Mnuchin because he's doing the negotiating and knows exactly what the Dems ARE sticking on (which means he's a TRAITOR! and next up against the wall...no great loss).

Ah, it's that snake McConnell. What a scumbag.

One so seldom gets to use the word Sisyphean.
If there is a hell and people like Senator McConnell go there, I hope he spends eternity trying to explain to President Trump that a newspaper quoting a relevant person is not an endorsement of the concept being quoted.

ETA
and he has to do it by writing letters instead of speaking to him.

What's the point of having an audience if you are not pushing your agenda?
Why would you present just the facts when spinning or fabricating them will be much better for you?

It comes down to a firm belief by Trump, but also most Republicans, that reality is negotiable, and that only idiots think it's not.

In his daily press briefings he reads the prepared stuff in his 3 ring binder like a third grader, stumbling over the bigger words.

My guess is he's learned a little reading over the 3 years out of having to do it.

No wonder he doesn't want his academic records released. I have a feeling he barely passed. And knowing him, he probably cheated whenever he could.

Probably more like whoever he got to do the work for him barely passed.

We've seen plenty of evidence that he isn't very good at choosing competent flunkies.

Trump is having a Town Hall on Fox this morning. I don't know who the moderators are, but I hope (with very little expectation) that they make it "interesting."

IMO it'll just be an opportunity for President Trump to make unfounded claims about the millions of lives he has saved by closing the borders, whine about how unfair it is that his actions aren't lauded by everyone and to take cheap potshots at his political opponents.

IOW business as usual

A day or two ago Fauci was being cited as being in support of Trump. This article (which links to a longer interview) about Fauci and how he disagrees with things that Trump is saying and doing.

It also contains tweets which suggest that Trump is getting frustrated with being contradicted by Fauci and may therefore remove him.

It really is “The Emperor’s New Clothes.”

Some of the posts in that thread are truly frightening.

I find an hour of Rachel Maddow every night helps put the day’s events in perspective.

The tweets below are responses to a tweet by Katrina Pearson asserting Maddow lied when she said Trump called the coronavirus a hoax:

Talk about frightening!

It's a Beautiful Trump virus. it's almost mathematical! Better than some Obama swine flu or SARS that went to Canada. Millions of Americans will remember having the Trump virus years from now. It made us better, stronger. It's Trump's best apprentice.

Fauci doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would stop talking just because he doesn't work for Trump anymore. CNN will be ringing his phone off the hook to get him to come on all their primetime shows. He probably will.

Thank you Kirstie!
