Thank you for your responses.

As to the quoted, I would ask what your experience is in the matter.

A few years ago I suffered a serious injury on a job. Broke my back and my left scapula.

When I presented in the ER the first Dr. I saw was an MD, he ordered some X-Rays and then wrote me several prescriptions for the pain.

But, after the first round of X-Rays I was seen by a different doctor, a DO. He ordered a CAT-scan as they had found the broken scapula, and sure enough that's when they found the broken back.

He, the DO, didn't write me a bunch of prescriptions but instead asked me what I needed, if anything.

As it turned out all I really needed was something to help me sleep, so he prescribed 10 tabs of 10mg valium.

I'm not suggesting that one was right and one was wrong. I'm just pointing out the difference.

So according to your anecdote, the osteopath used real medicine instead of osteopathy and that osteopaths are as good as doctors despite but not because of their osteopathic training, but because of their medical training.

In case you're not aware DO's and MD's enjoy the same privileges .... assuming they have passed the state boards.

What part of that escapes you?

I know you haven't because you keep asking the same question over and over.

I promise you you are wrong about my search history. Theres just too much contradictory stuff and if you havent been following the google wars over tech info and the policy of Obfuscation over the past few years, you may not recognize the google that google has become

Feel free to put me on ignore.

I value your words and opinion way too much for that. I got testy because it seems you thought so little of me as to just about pull a LMGTFY

And no bleach smell!

I swear on an SGU episode they said peroxide was woo, but maybe that was just talking about cuts

Thanks, we still have some bottles at a store here

Ok, not to get all 'chemistry' on your ***, but peroxide (I'm assuming hydrogen peroxide here) is perhaps, short of bleach, one of the most effective sterilization products ever.

Assuming a concentrated solution.

Generally you can find a 3% solution at any drug store, and that's fine for most minor cuts/wounds.

Problem is, if you get into higher concentrations, it will eat your skin off in addition to killing whatever pathogen you want.

Inhale a good lung full of a concentrated solution and by the time you spit your lungs up you'll fall to the ground and die.

It was actually used as rocket fuel by the Germans in WWII, and the US in the 40's and early 50's.

This link made me want to ditch hand sanitizer and carry a bucket of soapy water around with me:

https://www.marketwatch.com/story/deadly-viruses-are-no-match-for-plain-old-soap-heres-the-science-behind-it-2020-03-08

Basically, why does soap work so well against viruses? It's the bubbles, sucking viruses out of your skin. I'd love to wash my hands before and after shopping.

At Trump's emergency announcement, I would have loved to ask retail CEOs what they are doing about making hand sanitizer readily available. Passing it out during drive-in testing would be a nice gesture. Is it coming into stock anywhere?

No. You complained about anecdotal evidence earlier and my experience would only be anecdotal. And then the rest of your post that I didn't quote is nothing but an anecdote.

You don't need hand sanitizers. You need general quarantine. Close everything. Stay at home. That's what helped in China. Italy introduced western version of it week ago, it's still too soon to tell if it helped, we will know in another week. If it's not enough, we will have to right out ban people from leaving their houses, and enforce it, just as China did. Italy is week deep in healthcare collapse. What will come next week when there is 10 times more cases there ? Most other European countries are not learning a bit. They are all waiting for the situation to get bad. And US is following the trend. General quarantine with first case in the country, or even sooner. That's the best step. And let's hope some non-totalitarian version can be found which works.

None of that escapes him. DO's pass the boards and enjoy the privileges because most of what they do these days is reject Osteopathy.

I am no Pollyanna, but I think one individual around here seems to benjoying the idea of civlizatin collapsing just a little too much.

Just found out Trump's doctor is not a MD but an Osteopath. Why am I not reassured to find out that the POTUS is a beleiver in woo medicine over science based medicine?

About five years ago my doctor of 30+ years retired and was replaced by an osteopath. I was naturally quite concerned about this, but upon looking into it I learned that while osteopathy may have been woo at one time, the medical schools that teach it have abandoned all pseudoscientific practices and teach basically the same curriculum as regular medical schools. Over the past five years my new doctor has proven to be highly competent.

Hawaii is beginning to lock down. About time, they went from 0 - 120 instantly, not sure if they have inside info or are just as usual following washington/portland's lead

A lot of the dock workers were ready to refuse the next cruise ships, and now I think that won't be an issue

I'm teaching our kids how to record most of their parts remotely. Trying to teach the teachers how to teach over skype. They'll likely have to come here to do it, but with minimal interaction...just gotta make sure the keyboards and mouse are clean or at least that they don't lick them

Yes, I get that!

My point is that it is not osteopathy that helped you!

Now you just need to know if it damages a microphone surface or components.

It would likely damage the diaphragm but really as long as the grille is clean I'm ok and that can come off and be soaked.

Musicians are gross even in the least virulent of times

They put their mouths right on the mics half the time. I just dont want one of them to croak from licking it.

There's a popular youtube channel that sells apparel that says "Stop cupping the mic dumbass". He could be our saviour

I wonder if I can put it in a spray bottle or if I should have a container and soak the grilles. Can you reuse the peroxide or is it dead after one use you think?
