Well yeah. As well as denial re: Sars, Ebola, West Nile, Zika, ..... anthrax. Remember anthrax and duct tape your house? Good thing I can use all that duct tape for toilet paper.

Then why, pray tell, is this having such a massive impact the others did not have?

He was just teasing. That's the so called "strategy" of just letting it run its course and the UK developing "herd immunity"

Of course any real vaccine is many months away simply because of testing for side effects. So any vaccine right now could only be termed "candidate" until approved by the local regulatory body

Problme is people do not understand what a vaccine does, and why you have to be so careful about the side effects.

Just found out Trump's doctor is not a MD but an Osteopath. Why am I not reassured to find out that the POTUS is a beleiver in woo medicine over science based medicine?

What???

Do you not know what a Osteopath is??

Seriously!!

In every state that I am aware of they are required to pass the same state medical board as an MD.

As a matter of fact, in many states it doesn't matter what school you went to, if you pass the state board you can choose how you will be called... MD or DO

FFS!!

I'm so sick of this blind hatred of Trump! I'm not his biggest fan but at least I can think and allow for credit when he actually does the right thing.

ETA: Just for the record his doctor didn't actually do the test, he just submitted the swab!! Dear God you people need to learn how to "think"... especially on this forum!!

I found some old bleach. Not sure if I should use it at full strength, how long should the item soak?

Not sure I would soak anything in full strength bleach. It's very effective in a dilute solution. 1:10 is more than enough, 1:100 will work just fine in many cases.

Osteopaths are not “woo”.

From Wikipedia:

Osteopathic medicine is a branch of the medical profession in the United States. Osteopathic physicians (DOs) are licensed to practice medicine and surgery in all 50 states and are recognized to varying degrees in 85 other countries.
...
In modern medicine, any distinction between the MD and the DO professions has eroded steadily. Diminishing numbers of DO graduates enter primary care fields,[3] fewer use osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT), and increasing numbers of osteopathic graduates choose to train in non-osteopathic residency programs.[4][5][6] An osteopathic physician (DO) is a fully licensed, patient-centered physician. DO has full medical practice rights throughout the United States and in 44 countries abroad.[7]

Yes, it is "woo"

DOs in the US are generally equivalent to MDs. They had woo-y roots, but they aren't like chiros or naturopaths.

I had only a DO as a choice for a few years and had asked here about it. Yes they are doctors and have to go through everything a doctor would.

However, they do throw an extra layer of nonsense on top of that and some is even contradictory with real medicine, the best you can hope for is that they ignore the extra layer of crap. If the doctor were to actually chose the O everytime they came into conflict that would be a not at all good thing

Like Barret says, they usually don't but why even take the chance?

Hopefully you understand that your experience is anecdotal at best.

Several years ago I was treated by a DO and found the experience to be no different than what I would expect from an MD.

Again, they have passed the same state boards and are granted the same privileges as anyone with an MD.... surgeon, podiatrist, GP, etc...

My experience? Or what THEY THEMSELVES say? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Osteopathy

My statement was exactly correct and I'll repeat

"Yes they are doctors and have to go through everything a doctor would.

According to that article, the vaccine could be distributed to the public as soon as Nov 2021, which would not contradict TA's
assertion:
It looks to me like we could be under lockdowns for a year and even then it wouldn't work, so I don't see any easy answers without vaccine or drugs, and they're both zero at the moment.

Yes, they are doctors and have to go through everything a doctor would. ???

WTF?

Either they are "doctors" or they "aren't"

And this is the part that is anecdotal.

Do You not understand that?

Oh for crying out loud, PL. If we knew how to disinfect microphones, we would have told you.

Bleach is used at 10% to disinfect surfaces. Soak a mic in it and you are likely to ruin it.

Listerine, look on the label, the alcohol is listed as an "inactive ingredient" because the amount is too low.

Why are you not even trying to research this online???????
