It sounds like God himself is conspiring to ruin Trump's presidency. Perhaps Trump will start tweeting complaints about God, utilizing an insulting nickname!
 
At this moment I'm watching a CNN interview with some guy from Georgia who is sick with COVID-19. He's so happy that VP Pence called him personally and is praying for him! Isn't that wonderful! And he also says that he's proud to be an American. I wonder if he'll feel that way when he starts getting bills for his care.

I heard that if you come down with symptoms you're supposed to mail stool samples to Pence.

T.V. was probably already on CNN anyway, and the remote was all the way across the room, I'm sure.

It's like those stories of malevolent genies and trickster gods who turn themselves into humans to wreak havoc for their own amusement, except, as you say, it's a real-life situation.

It's not just Trump. The entire Republican party has, at best, a deep distrust of science. They write global warming denial into their platforms. A high percentage are creationists. They oppose public education and higher education.

It's not even that. We're in the midst of a full blown anti-intellectual uprising. Being right no longer just doesn't matter, it's a sin.
 
So, he "misspoke" about the cargo flights? And the administration just quietly corrected that today? I have hard time imagining the Kenyan socialist doing a similar mistake or even George W. Bush. Ffs.

Trump is apparently considering martial law. He's most likely even now exploring what fascinating new opportunities this could open for him in fighting brown people, socialists, and political opp-- sorry, the corona virus.
 
Trump is doing at 3 PM the thing he should have done weeks ago. Just that, not fireside chats about payroll taxes, would have made him look better.

It occurs to me that from an environmental perspective an aircraft carrier is just as much of a giant petri dish filled with thousands of people as any cruise ship.

I wonder what steps they are taking to try to prevent and, ultimately failing that, try to contain the spread of Covid 19 on the U.S. and sundry other military ships currently out at sea.

If they stay at sea and no crew members have been ashore in the last couple of months that chance of the virus getting on the ship is very low. They are effectively quarantined from the virus.
