Democratic caucuses and primaries

Biden took Missouri and Missisippi and is holding a comfortable lead in Michigan.
Looks like it going to be long night for Sanders.

I think that all but wraps it up for the primaries.

Sanders, you had a good run, and if I were American I would vote for you, but it's time to get out the way for the general and lobby for your reforms from the Senate and to the grassroots of the party.

I'm going to try to bite my lip from now until November about Joe Biden. I just hope that his handlers have some good drugs on hand to see him to the finishing line. Maybe some nootropics or steroids, and presumably minoxidil.

CNN declared Biden has won in Michigan.
Barring some total disaster, Biden will be the Dem Nominee.
Sunday's debate sort of becomes irrevelent at this point.

Biden has also won Mississippi.
Question: Why do the Dems give full delegates to states that are going to go 99% Trump?Works both ways, of course, why would the R's give full delegates to (((New York)))?

Suggestion: Give normal delegates to states that supported your last nominee by at least 10%. Give half delegates to states that supported the other guy by 10%. Give double delegates to the swing states.

The mayor of our city, while making a video for social media to encourage citizens to vote, was turned away from his polling location as "not registered."

It is believed the poll worker entered his first and last names backwards.

Our mayor is African-American.

I wonder what message his video really ended up reinforcing.

For my money, it's "Voter ID: working as intended."

Saw that one being passed around on Twitter, along with various messages telling people to check their registration (which is easy to do online) - and ye, it was tied to voter suppression efforts by the GOP, which they fully deserve, because it's not as though they've made any secret of in over the past...50 years or so.

Why? He didn't leave in 2016, and that contest was over by that year's Super Tuesday. The man's stubborn. They basically said they were "resetting" their black outreach efforts as of yesterday (Which...geez, learn from mistakes, Sanders, you did this last time), many of his fans are still in a lather.

I expect Sanders to stick around, but I suspect within a couple of weeks he will become sort of a joke to all but his supporters,

I feel a huge sense of relief that Biden now has this in the bag. Congratulations Biden, I look forward to voting for you this November.

Dunno if you guys saw Biden's speech tonight but he's looking very relaxed, confident, & comfortable. If I was Trump, I'd be even more worried than Sanders.

Biden has also won Mississippi.

Well, while not applying your formula, they do account for the previous results when assigning pledged delegates to states:

The pledged delegate "base" allocation is determined by the jurisdiction's Presidential vote in 2008, 2012, and 2016; and the jurisdiction's electoral vote allocation based on 2010 census.

Same here. It's not that Biden is so great, but that Bernie would have been McGovern all over again.

Or Biden could be Dukakis, Clinton, Mondale, or Kerry. There's no shortage of failed runs by boring centrists.

Cherry picking past failed campaigns is not a particularly useful tool for the present.

Anyway, I hope the general hatred of Trump is enough to push this trash heap of a candidate over the finish line. I honestly do.

How exactly is Sanders more "exciting" then Biden? He's not exactly out there breakdancing and performing up close magic anymore then Biden is.
