Regarding Bernie's praise of Castro for having literacy taught in Cuban schools, here's a tweet from Ana Navarro-Cardenas:

"I was in 2nd Grade when Sandinistas came to power in Nicaragua. They adopted Cuban education model. The books/curriculum taught ideological indoctrination. Children had to recite communist, revolutionary, anti-American slogans. That’s how communist teach people to read and write."

Yeah, the controversy at that really shows the idiocy and binary mentality of people. Bernie clearly stated that the Cuba regime has done horrendous things, while making the point "You couldn't say that everything about it is bad", and then points out to education as an example. The whole point Bernie is making is: You can look at other countries, even countries with horrible systems of governments, and find some good things that you can model to try to inspire a similar system in your own system government.

But no, people hear that and they say "Bernie is a communist who wants to turn the US into another Cuba"

With that level of idiocy in the people, I'm not amazed that Trump got elected as President.

We've seen the same thing here multiple times.

Person A: "There are several policies in place in European countries that would benefit the US if we implemented a version here."

A country in Europe does something bad.

Person B: "Look at what's happening in those countries in Europe that you Lefties idolize and think we should become. Is that what you want to turn the US into?"

Some people may be of the opinion that if a person or government does enough "bad" things, then any praise of it should be avoided.

You know, the whole "Mussolini made the trains run on time", or "Hitler gave us the VW Beetle" thing.

And while you may get on your high horse and look down on people who may condemn Sanders for his comments, that's not exactly the best attitude to take when the election comes around.

And you should hope that Sanders would have been smart enough to avoid that type of pratfall. Instead he walked right into it.

Biden said he worked on the Paris Climate Accord with Deng Xiaoping, who died 23 years ago and left office in 1992.

“One of the things I’m proudest of is getting passed, getting moved, getting in control of the Paris Climate Accord,” Biden said in a speech at the College of Charleston. “I’m the guy who came back after meeting with Deng Xiaoping and making the case that I believe China will join if we put pressure on them. We got almost 200 nations to join.”

I expect your post tally to soar if you commit yourself to exposing Biden's gaffes in real time.

Has this thread already mentioned that Biden lied about being arrested in S. Africa trying to meet Mandela? Because that's an absurd and obvious lie.

This day, 30 years ago, Nelson Mandela walked out of prison and entered into discussions about apartheid. I had the great honor of meeting him. I had the great honor of being arrested with our U.N. ambassador on the streets of Soweto trying to get to see him on Robbens Island.”

— Former vice president Joe Biden, in remarks in Columbia, S.C., on Feb. 11

I'm not a fan of our foreign queen but Biden has a long history of plagiarism. He was plagiarizing political speeches ninety years before Melania was even born.

That's how it works: we all remember him plagiarizing in the late 1800's, but is that a false memory?

It's hard to be certain with such a dynamic, fascinating figure as Biden. His public personality runs the whole rainbow of interest from gray to brown! Naturally a huge mythology has built up around him in the decades and centuries of his glittering career.

He makes black and white photos look color! Or were those sketches?

As far as I know, there's only one Indian left in the race.

Two of the states had caucuses and one had a primary, and Bernie won two and arguably a third.

It's certainly problematic in South Florida, but you're expecting Bernie to turn into something he isn't, now that he's moved into frontrunner status. This is the guy he's always been. His fans will cite it as his greatest virtue. He doesn't bend with the wind, he leans into it.

Just like Trump Supporters....
I admit, one reason I don't like the Berniebots is they are Bizarro versions of the Trump fanboys.

THIS.THIS.THIS.

Bitter fact is that some on the left have no objections to dictatorships so long as they mouth Left Wing Rhetoric.
