Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 19

I'm not so sure about that first part. I think he's well aware that there's a sizeable proportion of people who are vehemently opposed to him but he casts them as traitors which both supports his ego and motivates his base.

IMO he knows the electoral mathematics and that's part of why he spends so much time whipping up his base (the rest being that he loves the adulation of a baying mob). If he can get them to turn our then he knows he can comfortably secure reelection.

He may realize there's a sizeable amount but I don't think he can admit to himself just how many. Does he really think that the majority of Americans are
traitors? That alone shows he doesn't realize how many people dislike him. He thinks he's second only to Lincoln on being "presidential" and constantly brags about his 95+ approval rating among Republicans. That's his bubble.

It was apparently during GWB's re-election bid. Seems a normal thing to do, although back then probably not quite for the same reasons Dan Bongino imagines.

"....psychiatrist's phones"

So, according to Dan Bongino, only ONE psychiatrist's phones are ringing off the hook with liberal snowflakes who can't take it? How did they all know to call the very same psychiatrist?

Remember when Obama got impeached? How about when he paid off a porn star?
Remember when paid millions out of court for running a fake university? or remember when Obama he had to shutter his crooked foundation and pay a 2 million fine for stealing from it?
Remember when his ego was so fragile he had to attack his predecessor on Presidents Day?

Technically he didn’t steal any money. He raised money for the veterans, put it in a re-election account for a while, took it out and gave it to the veterans. The judge said that the fine was only $2 million because all the money eventually went to the veterans and if any had been stolen the fine would be much greater.

The Mayor’s efforts to shield illegal aliens endangers the lives of the public and law enforcement who have to go into the field to apprehend those released. He shouldn’t be urging illegals to beat the system, he should be urging them to safely turn themselves in!

(In reference to San Francisco)

What Mini Mike is doing is nothing less than a large scale illegal campaign contribution. He is “spreading” money all over the place, only to have recipients of his cash payments, many former opponents, happily joining or supporting his campaign. Isn’t that called a payoff? .....

.....Mini is illegally buying the Democrat Nomination. They are taking it away from Bernie again. Mini Mike, Major Party Nominations are not for sale! Good luck in the debate tomorrow night and remember, no standing on boxes!

I think a POTUS' power to pardon or commute the sentence of anyone that has a personal or business relationship with him/her or whose crime is directly connected to the POTUS should not be allowed.

I think we can see a Stone pardon coming as well as for Flynn and Manafort. If not before the election, at the latest after it if he wins.

ETA: Is anyone stupid enough to believe Trump's claim that he hasn't even thought about pardoning Stone?

You know what is called a "payoff"?
Paying Hush Money to a porn star to cover up affairs during the election in 2016!

But I'll pardon a politician who put a senate seat up for sale!

Actually the illegal activity of Trump and the Trump foundation go far beyond his "veterans" scam.

From: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/14/new-york-attorney-general-sues-trump-and-family-over-charity.html
New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued President Donald Trump, three of his adult children and their charitable foundation Thursday, claiming “a pattern of persistent illegal conduct” for more than a decade. Underwood said the Donald J. Trump Foundation engaged in “extensive unlawful political coordination with the Trump presidential campaign.” She also alleged “repeated and willful self-dealing transactions to benefit Mr. Trump’s personal and business interests.”
...
...questionable payments included a $100,000 payment to settle legal claims against the president’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, a $158,000 payment to settle claims related to a hole-in-one tournament at the Trump National Golf Club in Westchester County and $10,000 at a charity auction to buy a painting of Trump... And, at Trump’s behest, the foundation “illegally provided extensive support to his 2016 presidential campaign by using the Trump Foundation’s name and funds it raised from the public to promote his campaign,” Underwood’s office said.

Then of course there was:

- Trump using foundation funds to contribute to the political career of Pam Bondi, who was the florida Attorney General that had been looking into Trump university, but then who mysteriously dropped the case right around the time the donation was made. (Trump was caught for that earlier and had to repay the money.) She would then go on to defend Trump at his impeachment.

- Trump possibly using Foundation funds to pay for his son's Scouts membership. (I say possibly because, well, its hard to figure out what else the contribution could be for... the $7 contribution was exactly what the cost of the fees were.)

“[Blagojevich] served eight years in jail, a long time. He seems like a very nice person, don’t know him."

Blagojevich appeared alongside Trump in a season of Celebrity Apprentice...
