Cont: The Trump Presidency: Part 19

From: https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-says-he-doesnt-mind-if-philippines-ends-military-pact-2020-2
President of the Philippines Rodrigo has decided to terminate the 1998 Visiting Forces Agreement, a bilateral accord on the status of US troops rotating in and out of the Philippines..."I don't really mind if they would like to do that," Trump said Wednesday, adding that "it will save a lot of money." The president admitted that his "views are different from others," Reuters reported.

FFS, the US troops are not in the Phillipines to benefit the Phillipines. They are there serving in OUR interests. If it was not important to US interests, we would not be there.

So here's a weird question that popped in my head.

Who were the big movers and shakers on Trump's election campaign in 2016? Who was making his strategy and planning for the election?

Are they still in the inner circle? Has Trump fired the people who got him elected?

Bannon gets named dropped a lot as the "Guy who got Trump elected" but I'm wary of that level of "It's this one factor."

But if he has gutted or replaced a lot of his 2016 campaign staff that could (stress could) be a factor in 2020.

This isn't the first, nor will it be the last, time Trump has failed to understand this point.

The only thing he does understand is right there in the story. "It will save money". That is the one thing he has done consistently, albeit occasionally incompetently: seeking to have every single cent he can put in his pocket, not someone else's. It's part of why he's so contemptuous of career military and government officials - he can't understand anyone who's motivation is anything other than raking in as much money as possible.

It appears the Trumpanzees aren't denying Trump/Barr's interference with the DOJ prosecution sentencing recommendations for Stone anymore. It must be hard to be a Trump supporter because their defenses of Trump's actions are almost always undermined by Trump's own tweets/words.

I wonder how long it will take to suggest saving money by pulling US forces out of either American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands? The ones that have "American" or "U.S." in the names are probably safe, but I wouldn't bet on the others. Especially Puerto Rico.

I won't be the least bit shocked if he cuts them lose entirely, or does something functionally the same. Puerto Rico especially as you say.

Mini Mike is a 5’4” mass of dead energy who does not want to be on the debate stage with these professional politicians. No boxes please. He hates Crazy Bernie and will, with enough money, possibly stop him. Bernie’s people will go nuts!

Mini Mike Bloomberg is a LOSER who has money but can’t debate and has zero presence, you will see. He reminds me of a tiny version of Jeb “Low Energy” Bush, but Jeb has more political skill and has treated the Black community much better than Mini!

Former Communications Director Hope Hicks is to return to the White House in a new adviser role.

Hope Hicks resigned from her position in 2018.

Hmmm... I wonder if we're going to start seeing some old faces returning?

Why do half of Trump's tweets sound like he just got woken out of a nap?

"Snore.... snore... AH FOOTBALL PRACTICE!"

When I terminated John Kelly, which I couldn’t do fast enough, he knew full well that he was way over his head. Being Chief of Staff just wasn’t for him. He came in with a bang, went out with a whimper, but like so many X’s, he misses the action & just can’t keep his mouth shut,.

....which he actually has a military and legal obligation to do. His incredible wife, Karen, who I have a lot of respect for, once pulled me aside & said strongly that “John respects you greatly. When we are no longer here, he will only speak well of you.” Wrong!

Is... is Trump cucking the guy?

No.

President Trump believes it was his unmatched genius, his indomitable charisma, and his original thinking (no one has ever used money as the only factor in international political decisions) that got him elected. I doubt he’ll be hiring high-paid campaign managers. Plus, if he has too many managers who don’t understand his campaigning style (funnel other people’s donations into Trump businesses) that could be a problem.

He can fly anywhere at a moment’s notice without paying a single cent. Hell, he’s so cheap he’s even willing to not pay bills from cities that provided security. He loves the rallies and his followers love the rallies. As long as the economy doesn’t tank, he is a shoo-in. People are speculating that the “shooting on Fifth Avenue” thing might not be a problem

ETA
he likes to brag that he won on his first try. He doesn’t think it is that hard.

"Few of the critics who are treating President Donald Trump’s comments on Roger Stone’s sentencing — widely viewed as unduly harsh — as an attack on the rule of law showed such strong concerns when then-President Barack Obama weighed in, repeatedly, on ongoing trials or investigations."

For reference. The problem with Kelly here is he waited until saying anything no longer mattered.

Ahh, the often used Trumpanzee argument of "well Obama did it too" used again.

It doesn't matter. You're not going to trick people into believing Trump's usage of the DOJ to benefit his friends is just fine.

Okay. I'm happy to say that Obama was just as wrong on this issue as Trump is, and neither should escape appropriate negative consequences for their actions.

Is that the response you were hoping for?
