If anything would get you out of your house on onto the streets, the GOP Senate openly endorsing corruption and election interference really ought to.

Sure, nobody expected the Senate to acquit Trump, but nobody really expected them to make that decision in the face of smoking gun evidence of Trump's guilt either. Them acquitting him now reveals their hand. Democracy in the US is dying.

Oh yes somebody did, you forgot I know Mitch McConnell, and yet he would have allowed me to be Murdered because it helped Fox News, we have in this country a deal with the devil and the devil is the Crazy Republican Voters who think this is OK as long as Abortion gets banned and Soros and the Deep State dies!

Given that the GOP still controls the majority of states, and therefore their election systems, that is a faint hope at best.

I think this is the most important point. The US election system is seriously impaired as it is, and when the Senate acquits Trump, they give him cart blanche to keep up his attempts to cheat in the election. The election will not be a free and fair one.

It goes back further than that. The 2000 election was rigged via GOP vote-flipping software written by Clint Curtis.

I agree, but I predict it won't. The people who really need to convinced and to act are too busy putting food on the table and worrying about their health insurance to have time to.

The 1% has gotten VERY good at keeping the masses just satisfied enough that they won't risk what little they have.

You are not far off that but it is an unnecessary action because as you point out they are emboldened to acting in any way they want. And Americans seem to just lay down and take it. The French would be burning cities to the ground but you give up your democracy to a kleptocracy with angry Tweets or lamentation at the water cooler.

If you don’t stand up to this now, a ****** electoral college victory driven by the tin pot dictator propaganda machine could deliver what will be shoved in your faces as a mandate for this ◊◊◊◊◊◊◊. America is in deep ****.

The remedy for a president who abuses his office or commits illegal acts is to be removed from office by the voters, even if his abuse or illegality is designed to ensure that he isn't voted out of office??? If the president tries to go too far, he can be restrained by Congress, even though Congress is currently refusing to restrain Trump from doing what even Rubio admits is abuse of his office???
