The Trump Presidency: Part 18

LOL. Was that ever in question? Trumpanzees have a serious lack of understanding about reality, in general.

Just to poke at this a little... SezMe hasn't even remotely shown himself to be a Trumpanzee. Also, he was very likely doing a bit of mocking in his post, himself.

To poke at some other things...

Federal Workers Less Likely to Report Corruption After Attacks on Whistleblower, Poll Finds

...Probably exactly as the GOP intended.

Thanks to impeachment, 'civil war' talk is on the tip of all the far-right wingnuts' tongues

Stuff like -

As a naturalized U.S. citizen who swore the Oath of Allegiance, if President Trump orders me to drive a truck with a nuke into a city with Facebook offices or an illegal sanctuary city, and detonate it, killing myself, everyone in the city, and rendering it a sheet of glass, it would be my honor to comply.

Yeah, right-wing civility BS is a thin, dishonest cover for so very much evil. Most of them just don't want to face the fact that it's a cover for all that evil, though. I can't say that I have any interest in letting them intimidate me, either way.

And of course...

Trump Campaign creates website to tutor Trump's Chumps w talking points for holiday gatherings

They have no decency. They have hate and they want to multiple hate.

I didn't think Sez was a Trumpanzee, just that Sez was articulating the nonsense from them.

Yes, they are hateful, shameless, bigots who just want to win at all costs, just for the sake of winning.

If America survives as a reflective society hewing to truth, it may in future characterize the Trump era as the death of shame. The degree of outright shamelessness I see is breathtaking in its baldness. Just absolutely astonishing to see adults so infantile in their denialism of facts, lack of self-awareness and refusal to see beyond the current moment.

I was recently reading a long article about the Red Scare of the early 1920s, with the Palmer Raids and the mass deportations that followed. So for the good ole US of A, it's a case of 'been there, done that.' In fact we once had a political divide become so heated some of the states tried to leave and form their own country. That led to an actual state of warfare between the various states. Hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their lives.

My point is, it's been worse. A lot worse. As Barack Obama has said, we take two steps forward and then one step back. He said something along the lines, 'We'll survive this and be stronger for it. Right now things are tough. But life changes. We'll go on. Don't lose hope.'

My first thought on that was before America’s Civil War, things got so bad that one senator beat another senator with a cane. And when others tried to help the guy being beaten, another senator pulled a gun and told them to stand back.

So I figured that would be the canary in the coal mine. But then I realized that a lot of the Trump-supporting senators really don’t have the intrepidity to attack someone.

I'm just glad our Congress doesn't act like British Parliament. Everyone screaming and reacting in session like a bunch of maniacs at every statement. We still see it here, but it's orders of magnitude less.

Hating Trump is more important than understanding the people you're actually talking to.

Those people are already understood. They are cultists with Trump as their leader. They go low, and stay there.

Your effort to play victim, or accuse liberals of being hateful, is not going to trick anyone here.

Mmm. Strange as it may seem to you, I, at least, don't hate Trump in the first place. I think that he is totally unfit for the Presidency, is pushing a lot of horrible things that should absolutely be opposed because they are seriously harmful overall, even if they may also benefit a select few, and is a criminal many times over that deserves appropriate punishment for his crimes, preferably harsh enough punishment to counter some of the culture of corruption that he's enabled and promoted. That's based on my assessment of the facts, not on my personal feelings towards the guy, though.

It's not a real argument or point he's making. He doesn't even believe it. It's just an attempt to make posts in the thread seem invalid.

Probably. Even so, it's one of those arguments that cuts to the core of most of the justifications and spin that Republicans engage in by attempting to simply and directly make it an "us versus them" thing, which it absolutely should not be in any healthy discussion or fair assessment, rather than offering up BS with that as one of the underlying assumptions.
