Crazy Little Green Dragon
He does seem to have a very narrow range of sources. Most of the reports I have seen have been quite disparaging of his letter. Then again I inhabit a "reality" bubble as opposed to the "fantasy" bubble where President Trump and his supporters seem to reside.
I have an alternate explanation. Chances are very decent that he has seen the jeers and the claim that it gets high marks is in reaction to that.
Your post reminded me how often I see folks on the internet claim that the Democrats never allow room for freethinkers, that they are insistent that everyone think the same way. I guess that is one more example of their projection.
"Freethinkers" when its a self-serving description for "nonsensical conspiracy theorists," perhaps. Otherwise, yes, it's projection. Really friggin' obvious projection, given how big a tent the Democratic Party is.
Anyways, to poke at a couple other things...

Inspectors warn unsafe pork could make its way to consumers under Trump rule change
The new system will speed up the processing lines and reduce the number of inspectors.
ALBERT LEA, Minnesota — America's food inspectors are warning that "unsafe" pork is likely making it to consumers under a change in rules for meat inspection.
That change is now set to roll out nationwide to plants that process more than 90 percent of the pork Americans eat.
"The consumer's being duped," Food Safety and Inspection Service inspector Jill Mauer told NBC News. "They believe that it actually is getting federally inspected when there's no one there to even watch or do anything about anything."
Beef's next up, apparently.
