The Trump Presidency: Part 18

I believe that they had enough evidence to mount a counter-intelligence investigation and should have put undercover assets inside the campaign.

Many of us have speculated about how the letter was written. I suspect it went like this:

Trump rants
Lacky takes notes
Lacky shows notes to Steven Miller and they write first draft
Lacky reads draft to Trump
Trump rants
Lacky takes notes
Lacky shows notes to Steven Miller and they write second draft

wash, rinse, repeat

Tim Murtaugh:
"Calling any of these people 'conservative' or even referring to them as 'Republicans' at this point is an insult to conservatives and Republicans everywhere."

Is there any possible criticism that President Trump or his team cannot turn into a grade school taunt: “I know you are but what am I?”

By bringing this to public view I will here by invoke the rule of "he who smelt it, obviously dealt it" in which case, you are actually the guilty one. Sorry.

I'm actually glad they're openly saying stuff like this, because it can only cost them votes. Everyone who is still voting GOP, but who isn't a complete Trumpista, will see exactly how welcome they are in the Party of Trump, and at least a few of them simply have to conclude that they should, therefore, stop being in that party.

Chinese authorities have granted preliminary approval for dozens of Trump-branded businesses, expanding his commercial empire and raising further conflicts of interest, say lawyers.

The 38 trademarks include new hotels, spas, escort and concierge services, massage parlors, personal security services and insurance, according to public documents.

The President’s lawyers applied for the trademarks in April last year, at the same time the then Presidential candidate Trump was accusing China of "ripping off" the US and deliberately manipulating its currency to its own advantage.

Trump Escort Services? Trump Massage Parlors?

Runs in the family.

Grandpa Trump made his first bundle (when he wasn't claim jumping) by pimping and running brothels in the Northwest gold fields.

I was a volunteer firefighter/EMT for a while and encountered people in a wide range of mental states. Just from the bits of the letter I’ve seen quoted, if I’d had a patient spouting off like that, I’d have seriously considered asking the cops to EP the guy. (EP = emergency petition, basically a way to allow us to take them to the hospital for their own good, even if they didn’t want to go. In this case, the psych ER.)

Reading the whole thing doesn't make him look any better.

Your post reminded me how often I see folks on the internet claim that the Democrats never allow room for freethinkers, that they are insistent that everyone think the same way. I guess that is one more example of their projection.

Is there a corollary to Poe’s Law about Russian hackers being indistinguishable from actual Trump fanatics? I read a lot of posts on other boards that make me say, “if I were being paid to mess with US politics and the upcoming election, those are the very words I would use in replying to an opening posts.”

I see the Russia Hoax is still with us. LOL.

It's OK, we know you aren't a Russian troll.

Trolls are clever. First they build up a persona of being a reasonable person, then after gaining your trust they slip in an outrageous lie or two.

Deplorables are different. they start with outrageous lies, then when called out on them they just amp it up, eventually going completely off the rails and self-destructing. Totally different M.O.

Also, most of the time when someone gets called 'Boris' the poster calling them out knows they aren't actually a Russian troll. But they might as well be, and that is what the poster is telling them. It's one thing to work in a Russian troll factory, quite another to actually believe the garbage you spew.
