Cont: House Impeachment Inquiry - part 2

"Waiting for Trump to just up and decide to fail" has been far, far, far too much of the Democrat's strategy for too long.
What makes you think the Democrat's stragegy is just "waiting for Trump to fail"?

Granted, prior to the mid-term the Democrats had limited resources to take on Trump. But since retaking the house? They're working on obtaining his financial records and the mueller report (both of which can be used to address Trump's corruption). They've passed dozens of bills in the house (which can highlight how different the Democrat's policies are). There have been some frustrations along the way (e.g. hold-ups in the courts over subpoenas, etc) but that doesn't mean the Democrats are just sitting back and waiting for Trump to fail.

Oh. My. God. "Unhinged" is the right word to use regarding that letter! It's the rantings of a very angry, paranoid, and delusional narcissist whining about how he's been the poor, innocent victim of the Evil Corrupt Dems and giving a litany of every wrong he perceives ever directed toward him. As I read it, I kept envisioning him lying on the ground banging his fists, stomping his feet and screaming.

Even during his rant of how persecuted he is, he can't help but resort to his signature self-aggrandizing. I think this letter gives us a very good insight into his mental and emotional state at this time. And it ain't good.

The last sentence of that letter:

Trump said:
One hundred years from now, when people look back at this affair, I want them to understand it, and learn from it, so that it can never happen to another President again.
One hundred years from now, people who look back at this affair will learn from this letter because it reveals the character of Donald J Trump.

Perhaps they will be thankful that such a President never happened to the country again. Perhaps, instead, they will regard this President as the first of many truly deranged presidents.

I don't know how history will look upon this President, but I'm fairly certain this letter will become an important historical document.

That was not a reference to Galaxy Quest.

I thought it was the House of Representatives that was handling the enquiry? It's surely the job of all of them to investigate to see if there's a case for the President to answer, not just the Democratic members.

The house of representatives is under majority rule by the democrats. And the vote for impeachment was passed along party lines... I didn't think that would require explaining

He certainly shifted the news cycle again. Nobody's talking about tomorrow's vote at the moment.

But, since the vote to Impeach is inevitable, once the air goes out of this balloon he's going to have to do something even more outrageous (meaning "crazy") to deflect the headlines once again tomorrow. Someone's going to get fired. Someone high up.

Playing "Which public statement with Trump's name on it did:

A) Trump write

B) Someone else wrote, Trump added to it

C) Someone else wrote entirely

D) Trump wrote, someone else got handed the job of trying to make it sound halfway sane

E) Some combination of A,B,C, and D in some order

is currently one of my favorite games.
I would believe Trump added the exclamation marks.

That's how it is, not how it should be. Casually refer to that degree of partisanship as if it was normal and it will become so.

That letter reads like it should have been glued together from words cut out of a magazine.

I bet Conway wrote the last draft and he decided to add his own flare.

This is my take on Impeachment,
"Let's be realistic here the Republicans wouldn't convict Donald Trump, if he shot and killed Rand Paul, Lindsey Graham, and Mitch McConnell on the Senate Floor During the Trial in front of the Chief Justice.
If he did that they would pen a metal on him!"

Now Trump is complaining in Chopper Talk or Chair Chat that the Dems will not allow him to have lawyers or call witnesses in the Senate trial. And denigrating Adam Schiff again for good measure.

Sorry, what??!

Donny, it's your grovelling mate Mitch The Turtle who wants that! Adam Schiff wants witnesses! Particularly he wants the White House staffers who know all about this and Mr Walrus-Whiskers to be deposed. He wants this to be fair, and to be seen to be fair. These would be Trump's people...or does he expect they will not stand up for him at his hour of greatest need??

Gaslighting defined.

Yeah, yeah, yeah we've heard the "Trump is coming apart behind the scenes" things before multiple times.

He start apart, he's never had it together and he makes it work for his own purposes.

A word to the wise.

I can take a long time for narcissists to come apart - many months, even a few years. But when they finally do crash, its very sudden and catastrophic.

I suspect Trump dictated the equivalent of a 40 page letter but almost all of it was rambling, incoherent, self pitying tripe. Someone at the White House did a massive super cut, changed the meter, cleaned it up, but left in his laughable ‘points’ so he would approve the final product.

One hundred years from now our children will be asking WTF?

Trump had nothing to do with making anything work for him. He is a totally bought man, a narcissist, and a useful utter moron. He NEVER had it together, breaking everything he ever touched. Others did the dirty work and financed him, as was patently obvious decades ago and is even more obvious now. It was Russian dark money which bought and connived to get him where he is now as chief government and economy wrecker. And he was cheap at the price too, apparently. Frankly, his erratic and selfish behaviour worked against their efforts for the most part. So they did rather well, don't you think?

Trump's only personal purpose, as it always has been, is his own grandeur and monetary benefit. And at this stage, that means staying out of jail. He could really not care less about the world, the USA, government, trade, his wall, or even family if he is faced with the prospect of conviction in public. Because Daddy is not here any more to bail him out. And his Russian friends will gladly dump him when he gets to be too much of a liability for them, or Rudi opens his yap any more. And his only "defense" is to rant like a spoiled brat, which does constantly now.

So yeah, Trump never had it together. But it isn't him personally keeping him in the White House. Others are doing it for him, but their patience and forbearance are running out. Unless they are Stephanie Grisham in which case they are psychopaths.
