The Trump Presidency: Part 18

Not with the same power or clarity that a decision would have.

It makes little difference. 90+ percent of all case law is created at lower levels. By not accepting the appeal they are saying this has already been decided. There is already 200 years of precedence.

Hard to believe that @FoxNews will be interviewing sleazebag & totally discredited former FBI Director James Comey, & also corrupt politician Adam “Shifty” Schiff. Fox is trying sooo hard to be politically correct, and yet they were totally shut out from the failed Dem debates!

Both Commiecast MSNBC & Fake News CNN are watching their Ratings TANK. Fredo on CNN is dying. Don’t know why @FoxNews wants to be more like them? They’ll all die together as other outlets take their place. Only pro Trump Fox shows do well. Rest are nothing. How’s Shep doing?

CT INCOMING...

Is it possible that McConnell and scum know something the rest of us don't? Maybe they have a foolproof plan for electoral manipulation that guarantees Republican wins in the future. After all, they'd be fools to cede unchecked power to the executive branch otherwise.

Problem is, Congress has ceded a lot of power to the executive branch over the last century or so. Not all at once but bit-by-bit. This case could be another "bit" in the long trend.

Nah, he didn't really say "Commiecast" did he? Ok, he did. But he didn't write that. It's too clever and required knowledge he doesn't have.

The last time I spoke to Debbie Dingell was her call thanking me for granting top memorial and funeral service honors for her then just departed husband, long time Congressman John Dingell. Now I watch her ripping me as part of the Democrats Impeachment Hoax. Really pathetic!

Jesus Christ what a prick.

So Debbie Dingell is now supposed to give Trump some kind of personal loyalty because he approved funeral service honors for her late husband who served as a representative for 59 years? Yeah, you read that right. He was the longest serving Congressman in American history and Trump thinks that approving top memorial and funeral services for him was some kind of magnanimous gesture on his part? This reminds me of when Trump got all huffy because Amanda Knox wouldn't support him for president because he gave some money to her defense fund earlier ...which he probably took out of the Trump Foundation so not even his own money.

This guy thinks everyone owes him.

So, are we "great again"? If this sorry excuse for a man is what is considered as "great" or "the Chosen One, no thank you. You can have him.

Jesus Christ what a prick.

His sick mentality, if he does anything for anyone, they owe him. Even when, in the case of whatever he thinks he contributes to state funerals, he really didn't do ****.

And it's pretty clear he doesn't owe anyone that does anything for him.

More campaign ads: Trump believes the White House is his personal property. Ad in what Stacy said.

I agree...and it's that attitude which got him in the position he's in now. Quid. Effing. Pro. Effing. Quo.

Chuck Schumer sat for years during the Obama Administration and watched as China ripped off the United States. He & the Do Nothing Democrats did NOTHING as this $ carnage took place. Now, without even seeing it, he snipes at our GREAT new deal with China. Too bad Cryin’ Chuck!

Doubt Donny wrote that. Not enough random capitals and spelling errors, and the sentences are complex and reasonably formed. More likely his psychopath press secretary.

If the suit to ensure the rolls are purged is brought by a right wing organization, you can be sure that it benefits the GOP.

Not necessarily. The rolls are to be purged of those voters who haven't complied with Wisconsin law.

When the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty filed the complaint in October, it argued that state law requires the commission to remove from the active voting rolls voters who hadn't responded to a recent mailing, made as part of a regular effort to update rolls, within 30 days.

"The commission is confident that it is complying with Wisconsin law," Meagan Wolfe, the state's chief election official, said in a statement at the time.
Voters in Wisconsin must register online or by mail 20 days before Election Day, according to Vote.org. If they miss that deadline, they may still register in person up through the Friday prior to Election Day.

It looks to me like they're just enforcing already existing laws.

ETA: These are voters who have moved and have not updated their voter registration with their new address as required by Wisconsin law. It has nothing to do with political affiliation.

This shows how the thinks he can buy people.

I saw nothing that indicated what party most of these voters belong to. Also, it said the voters would stay on the roles through spring of 2021 so after the next election.

About 55% went to Democrat-heavy areas - and I'm seeing it said that opponents of the decision had been supporting more time than the hard 30 day limit, but the judge's decision was that the 30 day limit should be enforced to the point that any official that didn't just do it right after the 30 day limit should be punished. Haven't seen any numbers for specific breakdown by party - and I doubt those numbers are available to the public. It would be good if they released the names like Ohio did not too long ago, though, so that those interested could independently verify and likely reduce the usually quite problematic and easily avoidable "errors" quite significantly.

Given that Wisconsin has same day registration that can actually be done at the polling places on election day (still need proof of residence, apparently, though, so there is a rather annoying and unnecessary hoop to jump through for people that weren't expecting to need such), the damage is likely to be nowhere close to as bad as it would be in most other states, so I would suggest not blowing the effect too far out of proportion, while still recognizing the effect.

To poke at some other news...

Evil Corp is of course, a Russian cyber-crime organization - Trump lifted sanctions on its companies

Lavrov visits Trump. Sanctions on 3 companies that were considered connected to one of the major Russian cybercriminals that apparently aided the Russian government with cybercrimes were lifted without explanation. Elsewhere, there's a claim that the given reason is that they just happened to have been been founded by other guys also named Denis Igorevich Gusev. I remain skeptical. Still... Evil Corp as the name chosen for a company that did a heck of a lot of crime? The Trump Presidency certainly has kept bringing us stories that, well, reek of being the storyline of intentionally bad comicbook storylines. Where's Batman when we need him?

Worse, he sees it as some kind of currency to be repaid in kind.

Except these purges always seem to have a "valid" reason and invariably the result has a notable skew.

We can't predict the future or read minds, no. Neither is there no cause for concern.
