The Trump Presidency: Part 18

Not that it really matters, but I doubt very much that is a photo-shopped image.

Yeah, it didn't really matter in a substantive way. It's just that the way that the faces looked in the picture seemed... to not match the rest of the picture properly? It might be the result of something like resizing? No objection to the contents, though.

To poke elsewhere...

Giuliani associate Parnas attempted to hide $1 million payment from Russia, allege prosecutors

Anyone surprised?

Trump criticizes own security staff for not roughing up a woman protesting his Pennsylvania rally

At least it was a little less explicit than previous calls for violence that he's made.

Louie Gohmert tries to sneak the whistleblower's name into the Congressional record

A person he thinks is the whistleblower, at least. Either way, the continued focus on the whistleblower is beyond absurd - unless one thinks of it as nothing more than a cynical ploy to seek vengeance for outing wrongs of Dear Leader.

You need to find some more sources;she got huge coverage in most news media.

I'm sorry, but just because she got huge coverage in your bubble doesn't make my bubble defective. Assuming that I should've heard of her more is pretentious.

ETA: My point wasn't that she didn't deserve it, it was that I was surprised that she had a much greater impact than I had anticipated based on what I heard.

Correction and addition a bit late. Intimidating other potential whistleblowers is also reason.

Time leaves out the Hong Kong Protesters fighting for their lives and freedoms to push a teen being used as a marketing gimmick. How dare you?

For a moment I thought, “that guy has balls,” then I realized that he has no idea what those words mean. He hears people say that about members of the Trump family and knows they are insulting, but he doesn’t fully understand them. Remember, this is the guy who drove through Arlington and was reminded of the sacrifices that his family made.

This is Jnr's disingenuous play on Thunberg's "How dare you" speech at the UN climate change event.

To go into this little more. Trump drew the crowd's attention to the lone protester by yelling,
“Get her out,” he demanded, gesturing the “out” signal with his thumb. Footage showed a guard holding his arms above the woman and trying to guide her to the exit of the pen, but not touching her as she waved her sign and gave the finger to Trump:

Trump then disparaged the security person:
Trump was still out for blood, so he went after the security guard. “I’ll tell you, law enforcement’s so great. That particular guy wanted to be so politically correct.” Trump waved his arms and punctuated his barbs with what Mazza describes as “moaning.”

The reality is, given his experience on The Apprentice, where they did micro polling of the audience. Trump learned to be successful, he has to play up to what the audience wants. His audience, at any rate.
The packed stadium crowd roared its approval as Trump mocked the security guard’s cautious treatment of the protester. “We don’t want to be politically correct,” he said. “I don’t know who he was. He didn’t do the greatest job.”

Who knows what Trump really thinks. This is about playing to his audience. And it's very dangerous. Not that Trump would care; I'm certain he doesn't.

They were just upset that I demanded they pay their fair share for NATO. Their countries are delinquent. I raised $530 Billion more from NATO countries! Thank you Charles.

So, let me get this straight. Canada lost 71,000 jobs last month (equvilent to US losing 500,000) and Paris is shutdown from massive strike over awful economy and governance. But Trudeau & Macron found time to snicker at Trump?
Really?

So ridiculous. Greta must work on her Anger Management problem, then go to a good old fashioned movie with a friend! Chill Greta, Chill!

...When he read text messages between Page and Peter Strzok at a rally in Minneapolis, and pretended to have an orgasm...

The president of the United States, in front of a packed rally, pretending to have an orgasm? The crowd cheering him on? How can this be? Even here it passes by without comment.

The president of the United States, in front of a packed rally, pretending to have an orgasm? Remember the outrage when Obama wore a tan suit? People saying it was demeaning to the office of the presidency?

What has happened?

I think the classic example of this is when he got to the point of saying Obama founded ISIS, if you watch that clip you can see that all he does is react to the crowd.

Thing is, I think Trump is generally right about wanting other countries to meet their NATO obligations. As usual, however, he finds a dickhead way of saying it and acting on it.

He also takes credit for the increase that was agreed to in the Obama administration.

The whole point of NATO is to counter Russia. With the American president a faithful stooge of Russia, and Russia unopposed in conquering neighboring territory, NATO seems toothless regardless of how it's funded.

Apparently it did.

What a prick.

Mockery really seems to piss off Trump, it's probably the best response to his petty jabs. Trump's whole thing is grievance politics and uninhibited viciousness. Laughing at him is the best counter.
