The Trump Presidency: Part 18

Saying he's a 'little rough around the edges' is trying to polish the poop. He's an uncouth dolt who embarrasses himself and the country every time he opens that tiny little mouth.

"A bit of a rogue" is how you describe a man who's having sex with a porn star while his wife is recuperating from having his baby? It's how you describe a man who's cheated repeatedly on all three of his wives? A man whom 19 women have accused of sexually harassing them? A man who brags about grabbing women by their ***** because, as a celebrity, he can get away with anything? Hmmmm... what a little scamp!

Oh, ************. He's rough as large-grit sandpaper all the way to his core. His only genius is self-promotion.

ETA: The ISF Nanny put all those stars there. Think bovine excrement.

I can't quite pull of Cain-style parody, but I'm not serious.

And again I think the problem is Trump supporters understand that and did not elect Trump to (or at least in the actual hope that he would) "make things better."

When you put a bag of flaming dog poop on your ex's doorstep, it's not in the hope that it's going to make them get back together with you.

Trump is, in every way, a bag of flaming dog poop.

He wasn't elected to fix anything and people keep missing the point variously either scratching their heads in confusion or waving their arms in frustration about how Trump isn't fixing any of the problems his supporters are (either genuinely or ostensibly) angry about.

The fact that Trump isn't making anything better is not hurting him. Because he wasn't elected to make things better. He was elected to hurt/confuse/rile up/get back at/troll this vague, poorly defined, mythical "Elite out of touch liberal intellectuals" that Trump's base was told caused it all.

You said it yourself, Trump is unprecedented. Because he is, I honestly believe, the first President ever elected specifically to break the system.

That's why I still say he's winning. Everything he's done wrong is the point.

....I'm sure you're right for a chunk of his voters, but I believe that many thought he'd make it better. I mean, you see it when they interview Trump supporters. Few of them say that they want to see it all burn, one way or another.

Many thought he'd make it better...if better actually means whiter.

In Europe it's common to have 2 flush buttons depending on what kind of potty you went. Imagine how triggered the right would be by that!

"I don't want The Water Company knowing when I took a ****! Bunch o' pre-vert Commies!"

I'm surprised he admits that he has bowel movements. His hero, Kim Jong Un, doesn't.

I have this image of people at a top-level meeting sitting staring into space as the prez is in the bathroom repeatedly flushing the toilet. They can hear him becoming increasingly agitated as he flushes and flushes. When he finally emerges they all have the same thought: It didn't sound like he washed his hands.

Nope,not at all.
Somebody said Trump was the most racist president in history, when there some in the 19th century who were clearly worse, as bad as Trump is.
Surprised you did not get this.
Actually, I qualified the electronic media age. I don't know precisely what year that is, but it's certainly not 19th century.

There is also the "different times" argument. I don't know if the earlier presidents were more racist than their contemporaries. Which of course is not an excuse, but is still a relevant metric in my opinion. Trump's views on women and people of colour wouldn't be out of place only a few decades ago, but are abhorrent today.

Of presidents after the WWII, Trump is easily the most racist. There were some in the 20th century who were worse. Wilson comes to mind, he oversaw the segregation of the government workforce, which had mostly resisted Jim Crow.

I'd place his anti-Semitism and misogyny levels well above his racism's.

Speaking of anti-semitism...

Trump gave a speech to the Israeli American Council on Saturday.

So, what do you do when you are speaking to a group of jewish leaders and activists? Why, you start dipping into all the various jewish stereotypes... complaining they need to "love Israel more", and suggesting they are somehow motivated by money.

From: https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/08/opin...ous-anti-semitic-tropes-obeidallah/index.html
...He played on the dangerous anti-Semitic theme of Jews having dual loyalty to the United States and another country, when he said, "They don't love Israel enough." He then invoked the slur that Jews are hyper-focused on money, telling the crowd that to protect their money they will vote for him -- falsely claiming that 2020 Democratic Presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren's proposed "wealth tax" will take "100% of your wealth away."...
And he went one step further, saying that Jewish people in the real estate business he knows "very well, you're brutal killers. You're not nice people at all, but you have to vote for me."

Oh, and by the way, in addition to him lying about Warren's "100% wealth tax", Trump also threw in the "Pocahontas" slur, just in case any native Americans were feeling left out of his bigotry.

Keep in mind that Trump is also the guy who told a group of Jewish republicans "You're not going to support me because I don't want your money."
