UK - December 2019 General Election

More nonsense. It was not "sold as all things to all people". It was do you want to leave or remain? A very clear cut choice. The majority that voted leave clearly understood what they were voting for, and most of them haven't changed their minds since.
Yes. Lots of free unearned money and fewer brown people. The reality is rather different: the final run-down of the NHS, reduced social spending, job losses, economic depression, civil unrest at cetera.

We won't.
Boris will lie his way into No. 10. He will then leave the EU and sign contracts with US healthcare firms that cost the British Taxpayer a fortune and will last loooong beyond his term, crippling the NHS for so long it will hurt your great grandchildren.

He will then leave office, get paid a fortune by those who are going to profit from this and then spend the rest of his life agitating and denigrating any non-Tory government that is having to deal with his **** while fathering an unknown number of illegitimate children.

I'm so depressed.

I'm afraid this is pretty accurate. And the public will lap it up and believe all his BS and probably blame Jeremy Corbyn, Muslims and the French as usual.

Depressed enough to admit that Labor seems to have blown it in this election? It should have been a slam dunk for them.

Why?

Why would going up against the most popular party led by the UK's most popular politician be a 'slam dunk'?

You really seem to have no idea of the reality of the UK political scene and just read some stuff once about Jeremy Corbyn.

This is the thing that ceptimus ignores.

Had the Tories been able to deliver what had been promised in the Leave campaign and what people presumably voted for then we would have left by now.

-No worse off
-Free access to EU markets
-No Irish border
-Reduced immigration
-Lucrative trade deals with non-EU countries
-£350m a week for the NHS

I imagine that deal would have walked through Parliament at first time of asking.

The problem is that the promises were impossible to deliver and mutually incompatible in many cases. And that's not the fault of MPs who opposed the deal.

You really seem to have no idea of the reality of the UK political scene and just read some stuff once about Jeremy Corbyn.

And you refuse to admit that Corbyn is disliked by a great many people who would otherwise be open to voting for Labor.
And an "anybody who does not agree with me is an idiot" attitude does not help win elections.

IMO the Labour position on Brexit is closer to the Conservative position than it is to the LibDem position. Both Labour and Conservative are officially pro-Brexit and the proposed Labour Brexit deal would be nearly as devastating for the UK economy (were it also not completely unfeasible).

That said, you're right that the Labour Party position is the closest one to the one proposed by McHrozni because it offers a second referendum on the Brexit deal.

Disagree. You have to bear in mind May negotiated a secret Brexit deal which she refused to share with anyone until it was 'agreed' and signed off with the EU negotiators (Barnier). She then presented it as a fait a compli to parliament but only because three High Court judges ruled that she must (who were promptly labelled 'traitors by the DM). She had to gear it to the ERG as being a minority government she needed their backing. The DUP unsurprisingly stiffed her, together with the ERG who wanted 'no deal'.

Jeremy Corbyn wants a deal that keeps the UK in the Customs Union and continues with EU workers rights. A massive, massive difference.

The Labour manifesto offers negotiating such a deal and then having a referendum with the stark choice: the Customs Union/Workers Rights Brexit or Remain.

Seems fair to me.

They won't like it when they see more of the early-released jihadists and psycho criminals like Joseph McCann. Truth is prisons are full to bursting. Prison wardens have been cut. The Probation Service privatised and cut. The police force cut.

The public seem unable to make the link.

Only people who believe the crap in the SUN and the DM.

Watch these tabloids ramp up the anti-Corbyn propaganda in the next few days.

Police in the U.K. have plenty of resources, they have chosen not to focus them on violent crime or property crime:

“Nine people a day are being arrested for posting allegedly offensive messages online as police step up their campaign to combat social media hate speech.

More than 3,300 people were detained and questioned last year over so-called trolling on social media and other online forums, a rise of nearly 50 per cent in two years, according to figures obtained by The Times.”

The "stark choice" if Labour should win, will be between remaining in the customs union and single market, or remaining completely. Most of the Labour front bench, but not Jeremy himself, have already committed to support remaining completely.

It will be a choice between remain and almost remain. Given that we've already voted to leave it will be the betrayal of democracy. It would cause lasting harm to public trust in the British political system.

Maybe the public will vote for this? We'll know one week from now.

God, you sound just like a Trump supporter.....

Corbyn is Dear Leader and above criticism.

Corbyn or Boris is just a crappy, crappy, choice.

If I were in the UK I would end up voting for Labor, but I would probably vomit the minute I stepped out of the booth.

Well, I'm this close to taking about half my party's leadership out and shooting them, starting with the leader, so that might cheer you up.

No, quite the opposite I just said that Johnson is the most liked politician in the UK. And Corbyn is not.

You didn't answer my question. Do you read what people say?

Who is this 'we' you keep talking about? You, Farage and Tommy Robinson?

Your majority is already in the grave. Soon the rest of you will be too. And the lasting harm will be the memory of the time liars and russian billionaires almost did something stupid.
