Gall bladder surgery.

Just check out the length of that scar. The same surgery today would be significantly smaller.

Ninja'd by Stacy.

My father had that surgery in the 80s and even then it was a fraction of that.

Because they don't realize it's no good until they need to use it. This is the kind of scam that the ACA was intended to reduce; the Trumpers have allowed it to resume.

Yeah I kinda realized that might be a part of reasoning behind it, but does that kind of thing work with car insurance? I assume that car insurance is mandatory, so can people get car insurance that doesn't offer any real coverage just so they can say that their car is insured?

Each state has legal minimums for auto insurance coverage (in some states that minimum is $0). As a result, a lot of people get the bare minimum they legally can...and then are sadly surprised to discover those low amounts won't cover the scratches in the paint much less the total property damage costs. "But I have insurance!" "You have Mickey Mouse insurance, which is an ironic thing to call it because Mickey Mouse has much deeper pockets. Your insurance won't cover the cost of one of the buttons on his ridiculous mouse pants."

Navy Secretary Richard Spencer resigned Sunday at the request of Defense Secretary Mark Esper over the case of disgraced Navy SEAL that has created high-level friction between the president and the Pentagon.

The defense chief demanded his resignation Sunday after Mr. Spencer attempted to cut a deal with the White House over the case of Navy SEAL Edward Gallagher, Mr. Spencer said.

Too bad. We still need some Americans to subvert Trump and keep the ship of state afloat until we get a real president.

I accidentally wandered onto the Apple newsfeed and was amazed at how Pro Trump and Elitist it looked. Now I can't get back on it without downloading the app and/or paying for it

There's nothing elite about Trump or Trumptrash. Their kind are the worst sort of scum imaginable.

Most states require you to have coverage to compensate others when it's your fault, but little in terms of protecting your investment in your own vehicle (even when others are at fault but have no coverage, a hit-and-run, etc.)

But, auto insurance mandates are not like the health insurance mandate. If you don't own a car (technically if you do not "operate a motor vehicle upon a public roadway") nothing compels you to get it. With health insurance on the other hand, it's more like the act of being alive is what compels you to have it.

Full disclosure: I'm one of those really bad progressives who dislikes the ACA and the whole health care debate circa 2009/10 is when I lost all respect for most dem leadership. I even tried to reform towards the end, but then the celebratory attitude for presenting us with a highly polished turd sealed the deal. It still gets reflexively protected (sometimes even venerated) and I sort of understand, but then that also ends up cutting us off at the knees when we talk about needing to reform the system...anyways, I digress.

The many millions of Americans who gained insurance are sorry they are the enemy of the perfect.

Correct. Trump has never mentioned using binoculars or a telescope. I wonder what the excuse is for his lie regarding seeing 1,000's of people celebrating over in Jersey?

Or maybe he's just lying. According to WAPO's Fact Checker, he's averaging 12 lies a day. And those are just the ones we know about.

Not sure why anyone is revisiting this. We've been through it all already.

He has a whole fantasy that he saw things he couldn't have seen like the people falling to their deaths and the thousands of cheering Muslims. Another aspect of his imaginary world is that he took a hundred or so of "his workers" down to ground zero to help in the rescues.

No such workforce existed.

I wonder if other developers, hearing Trump describe his involvement in a project as a developer, often shout at the television "that's not how it works!"

I'm just going to poke at a couple things then.

Nunes spent at least $57,000 of taxpayer money on Parnas-arranged trip to dig up Biden 'dirt'

This can be added to the somewhat remarkable list of wrongs that should likely have led to him being, at the very least, expelled from Congress.

WAPO: emails show WH trying to concoct legal story for withholding Ukraine aid after the fact

Uh huh.

What a week for the Navy. Lost a Secretary but gained a War Criminal.

To elaborate more on this...

Navy Secretary Richard Spencer had the audacity to suggest the Navy and not the Entertainer-in-Chief Donald Trump should decide how to handle its own SEAL accused of war crimes, and for that, the Secretary was forced to resign, according to The Wall Street Journal.

And... to poke at a bit of a mess -

Is Trump trying to block the Nord Stream 2 pipeline so his Ukraine cronies can cash in?

The really, really short version is that Trump might well be opposing Nord Stream 2, which is probably the right thing to do, for corrupt purpose, given that a whole bunch of the people around him stand to financially benefit extremely substantially from preventing it from going into operation - and they stand to substantially benefit in the first place because of what look to be the wildly corrupt actions of the Trump Administration.

Trump, who had the big picture on the day of 9/11

will be clear with Rudy by now, who had the operating central in "his" floor 23 at WTC7 on 9/11. These guys have the Kompromat to bring the whole house of cards down, I said it before and you clowns can ignore it as much as you like, it stays a fact.

Thanks for the link. I had heard about the phone call and never heard the phone call.

It is so representative of President Trump. Lying about seeing people jump. Lying about having the tallest building in Manhattan after that the World Trade Towers had collapsed. And he does it all so glibly. Thousands of people died and Donald had to brag about how important he is. It is almost as if he were incapable of empathy.

We see it again and again. For instance when he went to Texas to console shooting victims and their families. He saw cameras pointed at him and started talking about the last time he had come and how he set attendance records at a rally. Then he went to the hospital and posed with a baby whose parents were shot while they shielded the baby. There’s a big-ass grin on his face and he is flashing a thumbs-up. It is as if he has only one expression to use when cameras are on him. I’m not saying that I know for certain he is incapable of feeling emotions the way that normal people do. I’m just saying that if you were an actor looking to learn how to act like a narcissistic sociopath, you could not find a better person to model that President Donald Trump - he does that narcissistic-personality-disorder impersonation perfectly.

Go back to basics: Trump always does what is best for Trump right now, each and every time. And screw everyone else.

So... Answer to the question - Why would Trump oppose this among a bunch of other stuff? Making benefit of his position as POTUS?

Answer is: Because it will pay him personally. He gets his cut of the action.

Oh and screw everyone else.

For some strange he won't take orders via Twitter. If Trump/sure hacker sends an order via Twitter to start WWIII they had better act it.
