Is that a serious question?I guess the only question is, is it enough for the House to put the matter before the Senate, argue for removal on this basis, and have the Senate vote on it?

Among the crazier things I've seen in the last three years: Loads of people arguing that the constitutional passages establishing the Electoral College are completely justified in overturning the popular vote, but the constitutional passages establishing the impeachment process are not justified in overturning the Electoral College.
A lawyer for an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani tells CNN that his client is willing to tell Congress about meetings the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee had in Vienna last year with a former Ukrainian prosecutor to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden.
The attorney, Joseph A. Bondy, represents Lev Parnas, the recently indicted Soviet-born American who worked with Giuliani to push claims of Democratic corruption in Ukraine. Bondy said that Parnas was told directly by the former Ukrainian official that he met last year in Vienna with Rep. Devin Nunes.
Removal from office doesn't overturn the election and I don't think the claim that it does is offered here as a serious argument. It's a distraction, as is the bickering over a late mother's wisdom. They are offered in lieu of a serious argument.Among the crazier things I've seen in the last three years: Loads of people arguing that the constitutional passages establishing the Electoral College are completely justified in overturning the popular vote, but the constitutional passages establishing the impeachment process are not justified in overturning the Electoral College.
As long as I'm using bad analogies, the saying that a watched pot never boils informs my decision to not watch the impeachment pot. If I look away, surely the pot will boil? Is there going to come a point where senators are going to suddenly lose the ability to keep a straight face? I'd love to Lindsey Graham realize in mid-sentence that this POS president is not worth the attack-dog effort. The downside is just too deep. If, through some unlikely series of events the current crop of GOP Senators feel themselves to be threatened by Trump's continued presence in the White House, then he'll have something to worry about.
They'll turn on him like cornered rats.
A new report from the Daily Beast described how Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) worked closely with Lev Parnas, the Rudy Giuliani associate currently under federal indictment for campaign finance violations, to help arrange meetings in Europe as part of Nunes’ efforts to discredit the investigation of Russian contacts within President Donald Trump’s campaign.
Congressional records showed Nunes took a trip to Europe from November 30th to December 3rd of 2018, during which he was accompanied by three staffers at a taxpayer expense of over $63,000. The travel came as Nunes, in his role on the House Intelligence Committee, was working to investigate and muddle the origins of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election meddling.
“When Rep. Devin Nunes isn’t donning his tinfoil hat and spouting conspiracy theories in defense of President Trump, he’s using taxpayer resources to pal around Europe with now indicted criminals who worked to illegally influence American elections,”
Try not to get bogged down in pointless bickering about terminology.
Wow! Just wow! If this is confirmed, then that puts a crapload of Nunes comments and behaviour sharply into context.
One thing though, are we sure that the person Viktor Shokin met with was Nunes, and not his cow?
Don't have a cow, man.Clearly, Trump sycophants have no sense of humour

Ohhhhh, You're thinking that the Republicans might do the right thing. How precious.
I said "beyond a reasonable doubt". The Republicans are not being reasonable or acting in good faith in any way.
I now expect the GOP majority Senate to use the impeachment trial to promote all kinds of conspiracy theories and just go after the Democrats. I expect the Senate trial to be more focused on Biden and the traitorous civil servants than on the Ukraine and the Trump administration's bribery solicitation.
That's not how a senate trial works. The Senators have to sit there and listen and not speak. Those that will be speaking will be members of the House chosen to present the Prosecution's case, Lawyers who will be defending Trump, and the Witnesses.
You laugh, but this is you literally citing your mom:
Are you sure? My understanding is that Senate rules dictate the procedures for an impeachment trial and those rules can be modified by the majority. I'm happy to be mistaken.
