House Impeachment Inquiry

Why isn't Giuliani being questioned? Isn't his official position as Trump's personal lawyer, not as a part of the Trump administration?

All in good time...…
I am sure they are waiting for the right moment to subpoena Rudi...

When interviewed by a Democrat, Morrison reminds me of Cohen, staring out into the room with big ol' innocent eyes. He checks over documents, stalls for time.

When a Republican is asking questions he looks at the questioner with interest and answers without long hesitations.

The Republicans seem to be asking the same questions over and over and over again.

Gym Jordan's faux outrage and attack dog style is tiresome. He's obviously playing to Dear Leader.

Not sure if this was reported on earlier (given how fast the thread sometimes moves):

From: https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/18/politics/donald-trump-never-trump-white-house-staff/index.html
President Donald Trump's aides have explored moving some impeachment witnesses on loan to the White House from other agencies, such as Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, back to their home departments ahead of schedule...Trump is asking anew how witnesses such as Vindman and Ambassador Bill Taylor came to work for him...He has suggested again they be dismissed, even as advisers warn him firing them could be viewed as retaliation. The possible move of officials out of the White House could still be viewed by some as evidence of retribution for their testimony.

This after they were promised no retaliation. I found that promise hard to believe considering Trump's nature and inability to stop himself when he has a grudge.

I'm watching Trump's sycophants, Nunes and Jordan, make complete asses of themselves repeating the same talking points and false accusations. They are truly pathetic.

Gym Jordan is so proud of himself. Besides his smile he looks around the GOP side of the room appearing to be looking for kudos.

Where else would we have been heading?
To Republicans denying he did anything wrong at all, for instance.

The general opinion at the beginning seemed to be that the Senate would never vote to remove. It doesn't seem like anything in the proceedings so far have changed that trajectory at all.
II find it hard to imagine what could make modern-day Republicans vote for country over personal and party interest. Can you?

OMG...Idiot Nunes actually starts off his statement to Volker and Morrison that he has "bad news " for them; the TV ratings are way down" and not to take it "personally". He then says the people aren't buying the 'drug deal or whatever the Dems are cooking up".

He then follows that stupidity up with asking them if anyone at the WH had ever asked either to 'bribe or extort anyone or anything out of anyone".
LOL!

Twit. He really should stop embarrassing himself.
He really is the worst of a very bad bunch. Dumb as a bag of hammers, and with just as much moral compass.

As if he's been coached, do you mean? If so, I agree.

Gym Jordan’s style is best described as frantic.

Nunes closed claiming the Steele dossier was about Ukraine.

Not having the energy to sort through site after site and claim after claim about Nunes' claim, I tried to sort through the Wiki page on Trump Russia dossier.

Most of the Ukraine mentions are in regards to Putin and Ukraine and Manafort and Ukraine.

Then there was this which kind of explains a lot:
Several conspiracy theories related to the Trump–Ukraine scandal involve the dossier. According to The Wall Street Journal, President Trump's actions in the Trump–Ukraine scandal stemmed from his belief that Ukraine was responsible for the Steele Dossier.[401][402] Trump has insinuated that the dossier had its origins in Ukraine, that the Clintons were involved, that Hillary Clinton's email server is currently secreted in Ukraine,[403] and that Clinton's deleted emails are in Ukraine.[395] Congressman Devin Nunes, a staunch Trump defender, asserted as fact that the dossier originated in Ukraine during his questioning of EU ambassador Gordon Sondland during the Trump impeachment inquiry hearings in September 2019.[404]

Matt Gaetz and Jim Jordan have pushed a conspiracy theory that the dossier was based on Russian disinformation.[394]
I guess Gym Jordan will have to update his version of the dossier events and this Wiki site will likely be updated after today's hearings if any of the Wiki editors have any energy left on the topic.

I saw or listened to most of the event today but I missed an hour or two. Did the Rebuplicans ever get around to using their giant foam board visual aids?

This is is called preparation. You don't get to wear those silver oak leaves on your shoulder without knowing how to make sure you are prepared for dealing with wankers like Gym Jordan.

Lt Col Vindman would have known perfectly well that this slur/smear would be coming; he probably had a fair idea it would come from Jordan, and so he came ready to slum-dunk the little weasel.

Yes, Lt Col Vindman owned Jordan, and he did so bigly.

Garrison is a delusional hack.
He does draw unintentionally funny cartoons though.
Highly-larious, and probably a good reason to support addiction treatment as part of Medicare for all.

Garrison is maybe today's best cartoonist, technically, worldwide (and I know quite a few).
His views are sometimes far off, even very crude (see "Greta Thunberg" thread), but often close to the point, like in this case.
He always manages to rile up the right people, though, which is why I enjoy spreading his work so much :)

The attempted smearing of Lt.Col. Vindman by implying he might not by loyal to the US, questioning why he was wearing his uniform today and addressing him as Mr. instead of Lt. Col. was far more revealing of the GOP idiots than of Vindman.

They've got nothing and they know it.
