Well, with evidence that voting machines in at least 1 state are changing the votes of people who are trying to use them, I just hope they do something.

Two other machines in Calhoun County exhibited the same issue of switching voters’ selection from Waller to Reeves, circuit clerk Carlton Baker told the Ledger.

When a political party *wants* such susceptible, unreliable and unverifiable machines as some of these things, you *know* they have designs on using the weaknesses to their advantage.

Deplorable that such a simple, low tech and not expensive safeguard as paper ballots is eschewed.

But we shouldn't be surprised that a gun-mad, anti-SI (Metric), awaiting-the-Rapture culture should be so contrarian in the face of a good-sense measure.

It was almost a throwaway but one of the most interesting points raised is the reluctance of the elected to alter the system which produced their election. Why would I tinker with a system when it currently lets me win?

The UK is vulnerable to fake news but ballot fraud is very difficult and and quite limited effectiveness in the UK.

The system is simple so there aren't many hidden ways to stuff the ballots without people knowing.

How can you ensure that your selection matches what you actually voted for when the votes are totalled at the end of the day?

Putting aside proprietary code, most machines have been shown to be easy to crack so how can you be sure that the tallys haven't been shifted by a couple of percentage points at the end of the day?

And necessarily always will be inferior to two-deep physical custody of paper ballots in terms of transparency and limiting the scope of attacks. Electronic voting only ever wins on convenience.

It's fun to think he did.
It's also more likely he's been attracting his own steady stream of insistent, single issue criticisms that fail to look past a tiny slice of the process and decided to update it for the upcoming UK election
