Measles vaccinations now compulsory in Germany

At the end of the day if you disregard the load of idiot middle class Cter's you are left with the poorer people and the only ones who will end up hurt by punishing them is the kids.

Huh? What are you talking about? Maybe the middle class CTers are the problem, so why disregard the problem?

Well they probably are

I just find it difficult personally to find a stick angle.

May be you have the answer to how to make well off people pay something and actually care

Huh?

Maybe try English.

Sorry

I just think that with CT rich people monetary fine policy won't work becuase they don't care

With poorer people monetary fine policy won't work because all it does is put some parent off buying their kid dinner as the have to pay off the fine

Was thinking more this

Which you seemed to ignore

But it was from a different post, not the one I quoted and answered.
But let's take a look at it:

Problem is most of the anti-vaxxers are the fairly well off, one partner full time at home parents with to much time to spend reading CT anti-vax sites, who a fine wouldn't really change their minds, or the crap poor parents who just can't be arsed, who wouldn't afford to pay it, or would pay it and the kid misses out on dinner or other necessities.

1) Do you have any statistics to back up your claim about most of the anti-vaxxers?
2) Poverty is indeed a health problem - not just in this context. But in this context, I think that compulsory vaccinations are usually free of charge.

No, everybody who is immuno-deficient may be harmed by unvaccinated carriers of the measles virus, not just children. And nobody wants to punish anybody. They want them to see to it that their children are protected from the measles.

Are you arguing for free vaccinations or freedom from vaccinations?

Of course you do, but libertarianism for children is stupid. It’s why we don’t let adults give their children crack or prostitute themselves to pay off their gambling debts.

I am in favor of Rothbard's conclusions on parenting.

Applying our theory to parents and children, this means that a parent does not have the right to aggress against his children, but also that the parent should not have a legal obligation to feed, clothe, or educate his children, since such obligations would entail positive acts coerced upon the parent and depriving the parent of his rights. The parent therefore may not murder or mutilate his child, and the law properly outlaws a parent from doing so. But the parent should have the legal right not to feed the child, i.e., to allow it to die.2 The law, therefore, may not properly compel the parent to feed a child or to keep it alive.3 (Again, whether or not a parent has a moral rather than a legally enforceable obligation to keep his child alive is a completely separate question.)

Rothbard was an idiot, but unless he wrote about vaccinations, he is irrelevant in this thread.

If you are in favour of this,

the parent should have the legal right not to feed the child, i.e., to allow it to die.2 The law, therefore, may not properly compel the parent to feed a child or to keep it alive.3 (Again, whether or not a parent has a moral rather than a legally enforceable obligation to keep his child alive is a completely separate question.)

then your political views are despicable.

It should be noted that the current German law does not use monetary fines primarily to enforce.

As a parent, one'll need paperwork proving the vaccination in order to enlist your kid to (pre-)school. Both public and private (the latter being quite rare hereabouts compared to Anglo-American countries.)

If you know German bureaucracy, this is a huge stick even for rich people.

Usually people pick stupid hills to die defending because they've created a fantasy world where that opinion is the golden bullet solution to every problem in the world.

Bob might be the first persona I've encountered that feels the needs to constantly and never with any actual point defend some idealized version of the world based on his broad philosophical nonsense that he admits makes the world a worse place and him a worse person.
