The Trump Presidency: Part 17

Fellow anti-Trumper friend of a friend got so mad she blocked me on Facebook for suggesting that the state of the art equipment in the military's possession can complete a genetic test in a few hours.

She said she works in medicine and that's impawsible! Now I'm a Trump apologist and blocked.

Do you have any evidence for this equipment capability? Any evidence that it is available exclusively to the military?

What is the connection of this to the Trump presidency?

I don't think it's exclusive to the military. FBI and stuff have it I bet.

It's connected to recent Trump events.

APparently Trump told Russia bout the raid before he notified congressional leaders.

I've got ten bucks on this being a Russian intelligence operation. It's clear impeachment is sinking him so Vlad's throwing him a bone to use for PR. All he had to tell Russia was "thank you."

Pretty half-hearted bet on a lame conspiracy theory. Were all the Turks, Syrian govt, U.S. soldiers and their superiors in on it as well? Or maybe narrow it down to U.S. forces ?

Well, let's give him this one. Of course he will probably later claim that HE killed al Baghdadi, but for now he has the day.

We should be big enough to give him that. After all, this is a happy moment.

Hans

Yeah, to come out agians the action itself would be a huge mistake.

"Complete" genetic test is misleading. Typically a number of markers are compared rather than the whole genome.

Record-breaking DNA comparisons drive fast forensics
At its heart are two algorithms that Ricke developed, FastID and TachysSTR, which encode genetic markers as bits (0 or 1) and operate quickly and smoothly. These algorithms recently won a 2018 R&D 100 Award, which is given annually by R&D Magazine to the 100 most significant inventions of the year.

These markers are two types of variations in DNA called short tandem repeats (STR) and single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP). They are considered to be a kind of DNA fingerprint that can be used to identify individuals as well as their relatives. Each person has a unique combination of SNP or STR variations—one person's combination presents in a specific pattern, while another person's presents in a different pattern. When analysts run a crime-scene DNA sample against a profile in the NDIS database, finding a matching combination of these STRs shows a high chance that the DNA belongs to the same person....

Using these three hardware bit instructions, the FastID algorithm can compare 5,000 SNPs in a crime scene DNA sample against 20 million reference profiles in under 12 seconds.

Because analyzing the DNA is not the same step as comparing the DNA:

"But a portable machine about the size of a large desktop printer is changing that. A Rapid DNA' machine can analyze the DNA in a swab and produce a profile of 20 specific loci on the DNA strand in less than two hours. Some local police departments and prosecutors have been using Rapid DNA machines for about five years to solve crimes.

You know, they [ISIS] use the internet better than almost anybody in the world, perhaps other than Donald Trump
This sounds odd or tone-deaf in at least 3 ways:
1. Complimenting ISIS at all.
2. Then saying that he excelled in this area.
3. And referring to himself in the 3rd person.

I know No. 3 isn’t unusual for him. It just adds to the weirdness. The overall impression I get is that he sees the whole world as a reality TV show that he owns/is the star of. And while that shouldn’t be surprising I find it all extremely jarring. That he cares somehow about showing ISIS he’s a good sport? Giving them a “well played!” compliment? No, no, no. There is absolutely nothing good about ISIS and Trump should be speaking of them with contempt and a renewed commitment to total extinction.

It’s also kind of hard for me to believe that this didn’t involve an agreement on the part of Russia et al. to allow Trump a major win. I have no proof of that, obviously, but does the U.S. really have the operational scope and the intelligence assets to conduct this kind of mission in Syria independently? At this point there are at least 4 autocratic states - Iran, Turkey, Russia and Syria itself - bumping around in the area.

Well I’m spouting off with not a lot of facts at my command. It could be that I just dislike Trump too much to give any credit even if due. But something seems very very off to me.

I guess he felt he had to say how brilliant ISIS is to make himself look even more like a genius?

Too bad that the tunnel rat in a suicide vest was able to take 3 kids out with him.

Doesn't matter. Nothing matters anymore. His moron followers will lap it up. There's no truth, no decency, no morality, no propriety, no manners, no decorum, no nothing anymore.

“Monday, nothing. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, Thursday, nothing, ga-ga-ga.

Friday for a change, a little more nothing. Saturday, once more nothing.”

Not the fastest teleporter, but it gets the job done.

They could have been in the middle of the raid as Trump arrived.
The log shows he didn't get to the White House until after 16:30. That was 90 minutes after the raid officially launched. I'm willing to bet such surgical insurgencies would done and dusted in only minutes. Hanging around to take happy snaps and party only gets you shot at, which is unhealthy.

Very much more likely is they ran this play while Donny was on the golf course simply because he could not be trusted to keep his great big narcissist tweeter shut about it for longer than 30 seconds. And not only did they not tell the people they were obliged to tell beforehand, they also didn't tell Donny. No doubt, he just "left it up to them", then coasted in a few hours later to get a "presidential photo of him in the Situation Room leading the raid" so he could take the credit and glory for other peoples' hard work...as usual.

Problem is, the klutzes who organised the shoot forgot about the metadata thing (a newbie error), not to mention the blow-back of protocol failures, and have now had all the PR wind taken out of their sails again and farted back in their faces.

Trump saying al-Baghdadi was "whimpering and crying and screaming all the way"
made my eyes roll 360 degrees around.

Geezus can you stop making **** up. So overdramatic.

The military used genetic testing - among other tests - to verify that the blood spatters all over the place was really from Baghdadi (sp?)
