We have pretty much the most carbon efficient farming in the world.

A shipment on meat from NZ to the UK is more carbon efficient than one from Ireland to the UK.

Greta Thunberg slams Facebook's inaction over hate speech, conspiracy theories and misinformation

Climate activist Greta Thunberg is urging Facebook to take responsibility and curb hate speech and conspiracy theories, calling the social media platform's inaction "very disturbing".

The renowned 16-year-old activist shared her views on Facebook itself in a recent post, saying she was considering quitting the platform.

"I am, like many others, questioning whether I should keep using Facebook or not," said Thunberg.

"Allowing hate speech, the lack of fact-checking and of course, the issues of interfering with democracy... are among many, many other things that are very upsetting.

"The constant lies and conspiracy theories about me and countless of others, of course, result in hate, death threats and ultimately violence.

"This could easily be stopped if Facebook wanted to. I find the lack of taking responsibility [sic] very disturbing."

She finished by saying that if Facebook is "challenged and if enough of us demand change - then change will come".

The post was accompanied by a video of Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg testifying before the House Financial Services Committee yesterday.

In the video, Zuckerberg is defending his platform's digital currency project, Libra.

Thunberg has previously spoken out about the hate her and her family receive.

Countless broadcasters at mainstream media outlets have openly mocked her, including the likes of Piers Morgan and Jeremy Clarkson.

Last week, she revealed that her 13-year-old sister is a victim of online death threats.

Thunberg told Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter her sister Beata was "suffering" as a result.

She said while she has been forced to develop a thick skin, it is harder for Beata.

"The people who write threats and hate to me do it to the whole family, even to her," said Thunberg.

"People don't know where I'm staying, where I sleep at night, where I am; but for my sister at home who tries to have a daily life... she is much more reachable."
