The Trump Presidency: Part 17

I have a new idea about the withdrawal of the Doral site. The estimate for building all those facilities Trump bragged about already having was in the billions and there were no more funds left for Trump to loot that much out of without some really bad publicity.
Good thought. When you're in the business of building castles in the air the last thing you want is people actually booking-in. Way too real. Now it won't be in Doral it would have been the best ever. Back in the comfort-zone.

I just can't watch or listen to him, the moronic, self-contradictory stream of unconsciousness that spews from him just hurts my brain. Don't know what it is since reading his nonsense is no different than reading some of the other nonsense written on the science and mathematics threads and I often just find it similarly and sadly ridiculous. However, I just can't listen to him for more than a few minutes. Must be that it's somehow easier to parse when written and more difficult to mentally follow or try to make active sense of when listening or watching, without getting yourself, mentally, all twisted up.

The worst part is seeing just how much he loves the sound of his own voice. He can't get enough of himself rambling on.

I saw a chyron that quoted Trump as saying "Impeachment by the House is a foregone conclusion." If this has actually sunk in a little bit, I see a better possibility of his doing a pre-emptive resignation. Oh, I hope so...
For Trump impeachment is a forgone conclusion because the House is Democratic. It'll never sink in that the evidence might have anything to do with it.

So Trump is always calling for an investigation of something, like the oranges of the Witch Hut (sorry, a typo above caught my eye) but what really happens? Do Trump's fans ever wonder why Barr hasn't indicted a bunch of Ukrainians? Or hired a special prosecutor to find the missing DNC server? Or why Trump doesn't sue Schiff and the fake news media for libel?

To me his constant call for investigations sounds like impotence. (And that sounds like a fun trolling meme - making fun of Little Donnie. Might get a rise out of him ... Or not ;) ). I'm glad he's still whining about Dorel. I hope he never stops. Those mean Democrats wouldn't let him. Sounds weak. Sad!

I suggest everyone should refer to him as a pathetically weak person who can only whine rather than achieve goals or gain the respect of others. Given what we know of his views of others, that ought to frost his shorts.

WAPO reports Trump sees the Ukraine as the enemy in Eastern Europe, not Russia, and was pretty much being guided by Putin and the Hungarian Strongman early this summer.
Everyday proof that Trump is putty in Putin's hands grows.

I was in Budapest a week ago and got quite an earful from a taxi cab driver on our 30 min. ride to the airport. He was going on and on about the corruption in the Hungarian government and pointed out their crumbling hospital on the way.

That's it: In a transcript, someone has punctuated the verbiage, plus you can scan for key words visually rather than trying to track his antecedents aurally. The thing that drives me bonkers is the incessant repetition. It's a clue that he really doesn't have much to say. It's one reason even Fox hosts go a bit glassy-eyed when they've got him on the phone, dropping little hints that he must have something more important to do.

That. Why does everything he says have to be repeated at least three times? Then there's his key phrases he uses which reveal he's simply pulling crap out of his ass: people are saying, I've read, we'll see what happens, etc.

On Rachel Maddow today: William Barr and a prosecutor still touring foreign lands in search of dirt on Democrats/ opportunities to rewrite 2016 history.

In Trump's mind he will be able to take back the 3 million votes Hillary won by.

"We'll see what happens," is not so bad. It increases the percentage of true statements he makes. Unless he pushes the button or something, we will indeed see what happens.

"He said, Sir...". Trump does love an imaginary "Sir...".

The investigation is ongoing, then, with all that implies. Which is, of course, nothing to functioning intellects, but more than enough to Trump's supporters. Heaven forbid the investigation reach a conclusion. Way too real.

Here's a link. Go to where he begins to take questions. You may have to turn up the volume high.

Kabuki theater complete with pandering to the Evangelicals including seeing how many trigger words one can get into saying grace.

Rule #1, everybody remember to pander to Trump after he spends an hour pandering to himself.

More than an hour long! The only way to listen to that is to skip along in ten minute increments. Nothing changes all along the first 40 minutes of Trump praising himself. Now we get to hear a bunch of people praise Trump. If they don't use the proper superlatives Trump corrects them.

Kellyanne, the token female, is still relegated to the back row.

How can anyone stand to actually listen to an hour plus of that crap?

Big deal. Trump has spent the equivalent of 283 years of Presidential salary on golf. He also at the same time awards contracts to his own business as well as selling business space to foreign governments and businesses that are trying to curry favor. Often at inflated rates.
I imagine the money the WH and secret service staff spend at Mar-a-lago on Trump trips pays more than his salary.

Also, what is with Trump's body language? He had his arms tightly crossed even when giving the usual anodyne stump speech. I don't know how scientific body language is but to me it seemed to project defensiveness and discomfort. He wasn't that way all the time but mostly he was. I didn't watch 1+ hours but that was my impression.

Think about it. Was there any reason whatsoever for that conference than to assuage Trump's widdle ego? Clearly the crossed arms is a clue.

It's filler. He doesn't have much to say and takes forever to say it. I did wonder if he did it on purpose to induce a trance in viewers, but I think it's mostly filler to compensate for the fact that he doesn't know much. He used the word "excorciated" which was kind of a stunner. Maybe someone is teaching him some big words.
