Wow, this is so different than Nixon. When the walls were closing in on Nixon, he hunkered down and really isolated himself. Trump is having a full tilt meltdown in front of the whole world.
 
So Trump is always calling for an investigation of something, like the oranges of the Witch Hut (sorry, a typo above caught my eye) but what really happens? Do Trump's fans ever wonder why Barr hasn't indicted a bunch of Ukrainians? Or hired a special prosecutor to find the missing DNC server? Or why Trump doesn't sue Schiff and the fake news media for libel?

To me his constant call for investigations sounds like impotence. (And that sounds like a fun trolling meme - making fun of Little Donnie. Might get a rise out of him ... Or not ;) ). I'm glad he's still whining about Dorel. I hope he never stops. Those mean Democrats wouldn't let him. Sounds weak. Sad!

I'd say it's more like the "Not a Puppet! You're the Puppet!" strategy.

The problem is that Trump supporters don't think it makes him look weak at all. He's trying to fight the "machine" but those Dems just keep dragging him down.

When it comes to Trump supporters, I find the phrase "You Cannot Reason People Out of Something They Were Not Reasoned Into" is the most fitting. There's no possible way anyone used logic, or intelligence to come to the position that Trump is a solid individual.
 
On the "witch hut," has there been an editorial cartoon where the White House has chicken legs?

It's sickening that we're at a point where the President of the United States is openly attacking the foundational document of his own country.

Were this any other time, he should be removed at once. No need for further deliberation; the evidence is there for all to see.
 
I saw a chyron that quoted Trump as saying "Impeachment by the House is a foregone conclusion." If this has actually sunk in a little bit, I see a better possibility of his doing a pre-emptive resignation. Oh, I hope so...

I understand why the media is tempted to air this stuff in its entirety but I wonder if that's the right call. They thought broadcasting his rallies would be entertaining and IMO it's the same thing they're thinking now.

They may have loftier goals as well about educating the electorate or presenting the unvarnished truth. But he's always been rambling, incoherent, self-aggrandizing etc. Why would it change anyone's mind now?

That said, I haven't seen or looked for the footage. It would have to be substantially worse then his meet up with the Italian president last week - the one where the translator was making the WTF faces while he speaks. I'd rather see a transcript than watch him blather for 20 minutes.

I get that. But I also wonder if his public doesn't wonder why there aren't actual investigations.

Maybe they don't because they know he's full of **** but support him anyway.

Big deal. Trump has spent the equivalent of 283 years of Presidential salary on golf. He also at the same time awards contracts to his own business as well as selling business space to foreign governments and businesses that are trying to curry favor. Often at inflated rates.

Also, what is with Trump's body language? He had his arms tightly crossed even when giving the usual anodyne stump speech. I don't know how scientific body language is but to me it seemed to project defensiveness and discomfort. He wasn't that way all the time but mostly he was. I didn't watch 1+ hours but that was my impression.
