I don't look at it that way.

You also haven't watched the most recent debate yet. :)

ETA: I don't think he really came across strong, just sort of sneering. He made Kamala, Amy, and Biden look pleasant.

Nearly 26,000 people came out to support Sanders in Queens today.

That's the largest rally of any Democratic candidate this year.

So what? If you think the US is going to elect an 80 year old man who just had a heart attack, IMV you are mistaken.

The danger is in letting that be a self fulfilling prophecy.

I find it interesting that others don't get this. There are other progressives running. Hell, there is very little difference between Warren's policy proposals and Sanders' positions.

Well I am a bit discouraged to see hardline progressives who are starting to turn against Warren and who are blowing up marginal differences into deal breakers, most of which wouldn't have made her not a progressive a few years ago. But there's something to be said about a relatively untarnished record in the Senate and a history of consistency, and I'm seeing more people go there when it comes to picking between the two. Sanders is the fighter and has been the fighter for decades and Warren is a niche progressive who's alright, she rose up under his shadow, but not on Sanders' level.

And let's be honest there's reasons to believe Warren was pressured into many of her positions from the progressive faction of Democrats, ultimately from the influence of Sanders. I mean not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, but her niche strength is in financial justice. Sanders' platform is broader and hits multiple areas harder so if Warren wasn't on board with Medicare for All 2.0 for instance, with all of its added features since 2017, I doubt she could get away with even an alternative single-payer proposal.

That does frustrate me. But I maintain Bernie Sanders is the safe vote.

I don't think there is anything safe about Bernie.

You approve of court packing?

Why not? There is nothing in the Constitution that prohibits it.And it will show the Republicans that they're not the only ones who can play the game. Keep in mind that the GOP had no problem with refusing to do their duty and seriously consider Obama's nomination for the court.

Agreed. He's a very risky bet. I know the GOP will get the SOCIALIST!!11! drum like never before but with Bernie, there's a better chance it will stick. Biden and Warren are safer bets.

Yep. Its hard for me to respect Sanders as a Democrat since he's never been one.

Warren and Bernie are birds of a feather. You'd think they were both college kids in the 60s. Oh wait, they were.

Today Warren, as much of her I could listen to, let us all know how she was going to end all corruption along with all that Medicare for all and free education. And all it was going to take was someone believing they could do it and not listening to all those naysayers.

This stuff goes to people's heads, Sanders' revolution, Warren's magical thinking, Biden's ego that he's the front runner because Biden and Obama were such a great team.

And in the meantime, the Trump propaganda machine gears up to tear all three of them down if any of them win the nomination.

And the Democratic Band plays on, still oblivious to how you actually get effective messages out.

Did anyone see that horrendous story about McConnell holding a decades long grudge because Bork wasn't confirmed, which McConnell then got his revenge by blocking Obama's rightful SCOTUS nomination?

Could be McConnell's hatred of Obama had something to do with it as well. I'd bet you McConnell dislikes blacks. I'd guess he was racist but he's married to an Asian. Is there a name for that? Selective racism?

Just racism.

COLLEGE STUDENTS FAVOR ELIZABETH WARREN OVER BERNIE SANDERS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 7 MONTHS

College Pulse, a data and survey analytics company, and Chegg, an education technology company, launched an "Election Tracker" in March. Since its launch, they've asked college students on a weekly basis to select the candidate they'd most like to see as the Democratic nominee for president.

Sanders was college students' top pick since polls were first released on March 26, but he fell to second place on Tuesday, being replaced by Warren as students' first choice. Of the 1,500 students that were polled, 32 percent chose Warren and 27 percent selected Sanders.

When College Pulse and Chegg first surveyed college students for the Election Tracker, Warren only had five percent support. It wasn't until the July 2 poll that she started to join Sanders in breaking away from the rest of the pack, which coincided with the same time former Vice President Joe Biden saw a sharp decline in college-aged voter support.

Racism by its very nature is selective.

My father had a racist streak running through him and told ethnic jokes about every ethnic group even the one he came from. But he really was racist towards African Americans. He almost always referred to them with the "n" word. I respected my father and yet I absolutely detested him when he talked that way.

I didn't say she said that.

Whoopteedo, she's going to fight. How does that matter?

The important point here is, one) her messaging sucks; and two) she runs a good chance of losing because her messaging sucks.

I don't think she's be the frontrunner if her messaging sucked.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/17/politics/2020-democratic-presidential-candidates-ranked/index.html

It's official: Elizabeth Warren is our new Democratic 2020 front-runner

Not sure what metrics you judge messaging and it's effectiveness/suckiness by though.

I don't think her messaging sucks. I think it could be better. But I aways think that.
