it's hard for me to imagine that Barr isn't ******* his pants that Trump is implicating him in unethical activities in at least 3 countries. Pompeo, he's already chosen his hill to die on and Giuliani can't be impeached. IMO it's only a matter of time before Trump starts implicating Pence as well. Although maybe whoever is writing Trump's tweets will try to leave Pence out of it trying to salvage him so he can still be held out as the GOP's go-to guy if they decide Trump is radioactive. If I were a Republican Senate candidate I'd be begging Trump and Pence not to campaign for me just now.

His base may not realize how bad these tweets are for his Cabinet members but those members probably aren't that naive. Barr especially must realize his balls are caught in a vise. I can't articulate all the reasons now, but if he cares about his law license, let alone his job, thing aren't looking great for him. I don't think it's overstatement to say his best option may be to resign immediately.

My theory is that teenagers are generally pretty good critical thinkers and that we sometimes educate this tendency out of them.

ETA: And not just teenagers. Younger, too.

As I predicted, Jay Powell and the Federal Reserve have allowed the Dollar to get so strong, especially relative to ALL other currencies, that our manufacturers are being negatively affected. Fed Rate too high. They are their own worst enemies, they don’t have a clue. Pathetic!

Why isn’t Congressman Adam Schiff being brought up on charges for fraudulently making up a statement and reading it to Congress as if this statement, which was very dishonest and bad for me, was directly made by the President of the United States? This should never be allowed!

Trump complaining that people make **** up about him. That's got to have even some Republicans in stitches.

ETA: everyone's probably seen it but I'm having trouble cutting and pasting. It captures the spirit of the conversation quite well with mildly and clearly satirical poetic license. There's no slander there. It's nowhere near the malice and flagrant disregard for the truth that Trump has made up about people daily for the past 3 years. Trump keeps harping that the quotes were made up. Good luck with that, bozo. He does not dispute the essential truth of Schiff's message.

Kamala Harris wants Trump's Twitter account to be suspended. That would actually be doing him a huge favor.

I had always thought it was religious folks who didn’t want their kids evaluating evidence as they considered the veracity of the Bible.

Then Again we cannot ignore America’s lack of teachers who understand it well enough to teach it.

It to keep this post on topic, there really should be a lot more Americans recognizing how crooked and incompetent President Trump is.
 
I'm still trying to figure out exactly what a "perfect" phone call is. I mean, I've made many calls in my life, but there's not been one where I've hung up the phone and said, "My, what a perfect phone call!"

Might it be a call in which all of that call's objectives were achieved by the person making it?

But I think a previous commenter in this thread pointed out, that in Trump's case, a perfect call was more likely to be not strangling oneself with the cord or not crushing fingers when hanging up.

LOL what a dumb***. What does he think happens to the USD when you try to restrict imports?

Hint fewer USD spent on imports means less supply outside the US available for buying US goods or investing in the US. Basic supply and demand means the price of the USD must increase. He’s driving up the USD with his own polices then whining about the consequences.

The GOP isn't going to lose their support. Where would they go?

Individual Republican pols might continue to fear getting primaried by opponents who keep beating the Trump drum even after he is gone, but that isn't the same thing.

Those are the phone calls you can't remember making after you sober up the next morning.

Trump can't remember what he said five minutes after he says it. Much the same thing.

I wouldn't say they're good critical thinkers but very young people are less biased. Teaching them critical thinking can help them avoid getting stuck in a rigid thinking scheme later on.

The GOP has been losing support. This is why it lost the House. In more than 3/4s of the races in the nation Republicans did poorer in the last election.And Trump in 20 states that he won in 2016 has seen at least an 8 point drop. The one exception was Florida.
