The Trump Presidency: Sweet/Sweat 16

What a lot of people are commenting on is why Trump released the transcript, rather then just cliam Executive Priviliage and stonewall it until the accusations were old news.
Main theory;It was another one of Trump's "decisione made with his gut" and he probably did not have anybody to tell him it would be a bad idea since he has surrounded himself with Yes men and sycophants.

I don't understand. Why speculate?

Trump Tweets

“Democrats wrote to the Ukrainian government in May 2018 urging it to continue investigations into President Donald Trump’s alleged collusion with Russia in the 2016 presidential campaign — collusion later found NOT TO EXIST.”

“You don’t see a direct quid pro quo in this.” @BretBaier

“He (President Trump) didn’t specifically mention the explicit quid pro quo of…unless you investigate this…we’re going to withhold military aid to you.” Pamela Brown

That rightwing website actually goes into that in the transcript of Rudy's unhinged rant:

So, the state department and Trump's personal (defense?) legal council are hybridized at this point, from what I can tell.
Props to Laura Ingraham in that interview. She usually plays the role of the wacky conspiracy theorist, but with jiuliani taking that role for this interview she does a really good straight man. She almost bursts out laughing a few times but manages to contain it.

Unprecedented and unpatriotic.
Nancy Pelosi undermined the solemn duty of impeachment that a future House may have to undertake if there is something ACTUALLY wrong. The Left couldn’t even wait for the #UkraineTranscript before calling for a fact-free #TrumpImpeachment

Mark Meadows
@RepMarkMeadows
As the left now tries to move the goalposts, remember that for days, all we heard was that @realDonaldTrumpoffered quid pro quo to trade foreign aid in exchange for investigating the Bidens.
It was wrong. Again. Another day, another conspiracy theory debunked.

Rep. Pete King
@RepPeteKing
Nothing remotely impeachable in transcript. Ukrainian President brought up Giuliani before @POTUS Trump mentioned Biden. No quid pro quo. Pursuing impeachment is indefensible.

Rep. Mark Green
@RepMarkGreen
Once again, Democrats reveal that impeachment is not really about our country, but about their own imperative to maintain power, reverse the will of the people, and undermine the President.

Rep. Jeff Duncan
@RepJeffDuncan
None of what Democrats said happened on the call between @realDonaldTrump & Ukrainian President Zelensky was true. No quid pro quo, no talk of aid, no crimes committed. They moved to impeach yesterday before they even knew the facts.

Eric Trump
@EricTrump
“...involving an industry and business he knew nothing about.” It is an absolute joke. The only corruption worse than Biden’s is that of the media who choose to ignore and look the other way. #NothingToSeeHere

Steve Scalise
@SteveScalise
Dems launched an impeachment inquiry based on a rumor instead of waiting for the facts.
It's now clear: there was no quid pro quo. @realDonaldTrump didn't break any laws.
But this has never been about facts or laws for Dems & the media—they just want to undo the 2016 election.

1) Having read DOJ’s Trump-Ukraine release, here’s the real story: This is another internal attempt to take out a president, on the basis of another non-smoking-gun.

Wow! “Ukraine Whistleblower’s lead attorney donated to Biden.” @FreeBeacon

I have informed @GOPLeader Kevin McCarthy and all Republicans in the House that I fully support transparency on so-called whistleblower information but also insist on transparency from Joe Biden and his son Hunter, on the millions of dollars that have been quickly and easily....

....taken out of Ukraine and China. Additionally, I demand transparency from Democrats that went to Ukraine and attempted to force the new President to do things that they wanted under the form of political threat.

To be fair, this is only a summary of the transcript of the call, and not the actual transcript itself. Still could be there...

It's about 11 minutes of what was said to be a 30-minute call, so 19 minutes missing. Trump beat Nixon's record by half a minute!

I heard a comedian's routine on how she knows no one respects Trump. It's that no one bothered to tell him he had toilet paper stuck to his shoe as he boarded Air Force One. A Marine asks his buddy who says, "Nah, don't tell him. It's a good look for him."

Even a prison guard would do that much for a man walking to his execution.

Obviously her telling was funnier than mine.

Giuliani has been losing his everloving MIND.

"Rudy is pushing Illuminati-style conspiracy theories about [spins wheel] George Soros"

Video in link. I think the idea is that George Soros was the one who ratted out Paul Manafort? lol
Then he says "And George Soros hired the crooked FBI agent, who is now working, for George Soros."

Even Ingraham is squirming. Rudy sounds like he's taking up the InfoWar flag.

He seems oblivious to the "dirt on political opponent" piece.

Biden Jr was hired to be on the board of a Ukraine gas company. These are standard deals. All companies do this for good PR and to look credible. Those board members don't do anything. Vote on internal matters once a year. Same thing happens in US companies. They are a bit less expensive to hire than the useless CEO.
