Tough to watch, everyone but Guyger seemed to immediately respond with trying to help. She seemed more focused on being "******" and making sure everyone knew she thought she was in the wrong apartment.

She kind of sucks.

Yeah trying to cover your ass is usually a sign that you're in the wrong.

Wow, that red floormat is like a beacon in that hallway. It completely stands out with the white\grey background in that video.

"Did you notice a smell in the apartment?"

"Yes"

"What did it smell like?"

"Marijuana"

Why? Just why does that mean anything at all? I don't get it. He's home by himself and he should be able to do whatever the **** he wants.

So the magical alternative universe person in the not her apartment that she could both see and not see at the same time broke in, gave her a floor mat, turned out the lights, and set there smoking pot until she got home.

You forgot sat there in a manner that put her in fear of her life, he probably had a spoon I his hand ready to shank her with!

Well I learned from the other cop shooting threads that literally everything puts cops in fear for their lives; following orders, not following orders, moving too slow, moving too fast, moving toward them, moving away from them, doing something, doing nothing, following the contradictory orders being screamed at you, not following the contradictory orders being screamed at you, acting too calm, acting too upset, talking back, not responding when they talk to you...

The defense is drilling pushing hard on the responding officer that he didn't have blood on his hands. I wonder why?

Best guess, to show that he didn't provide first aid to Jean either, to counter the "Well it's standard policy to assist the victim" claims put on Guyger. You'd figure someone providing basic "check the ABCs" and CPR/Chest Compression to a shooting victim would get some blood on them. If the responding officer didn't do it either the defense could claim it wasn't "standard policy" to do so.

Seems rather silly to me, since all that would do is prove that nobody thought to actually check on Jean or give him first aid until the actual EMTs got there.

Hell I wondered if it was determined exactly when he died. Were the shots instantly (or close enough to not matter) fatal or did he bleed out why Guyver was panicking his door way calling her boyfriend and getting her story straight.

That can't really work here though because they have his cop cam that shows him put on his gloves and take over for "Office Blair" who immediately started his care for Jean.

The body cam shows, and I mean this literally, everyone but Guyger coming to check on Jean. There were 3 different police officers that administered first aid to Jean before the medics got there to put him on the stretcher.

The defense asked him about blood transfer to his radio (that there was none) and to his other devices a few times. I just don't know why.

They also brought up the maintenance man scenario and asked if the cop had any maintenance guy come to his place that late. So it's on their mind as well. I wonder why Guyger didn't get her dog after work?

You'd be amazed at what people can excuse when you create the thought that the person deserved some sort of punishment.

Which is why her partner, phone usage, and text messages were brought into evidence. She never mentioned being tired, she texted to make plans later in the evening, and she spent most of her day on pinterest and facebook.

Wait......she wasn't out serving warrants all day? That was the original story.

Not when you have your face buried in a cell phone trying to cop some tail. evidently.

Yes, it all makes sense now. I didn't know about the sexting bit before, but it sure explains that she didn't notice where the **** she was.

It changes nothing about her responsibnility, of course.

Temporary insanity by reason of sexual frustration.

Don't they put gloves on first as SOP anymore?

That's a pretty good summary, actually.

It's actually yet another clue Guyger missed that she was in the wrong apartment. If I were burglarizing somebody's apartment (not that I would), I'm going to get in, grab whatever I see that's worth stealing, and get the hell out. I'm sure as hell not going to stop for a toke.
