The Trials of Amanda Knox and Raffaele Sollecito: Part 29

Oh and Vixen: evidence please to support your claim of being able to support the assertion that the Knox family engaged in a "$2 million PR campaign".

I'm beginning to really think that - after all this time of being repeatedly asked to provide this evidence (which you yourself claimed to already possess....) - you don't actually have any such evidence! That your claim was a complete load of bull faeces! That it was A LIE, Vixen :D

Yes, it was an unfortunate coupling. If they hadn't been a catalyst for each other's fantasies the crime may never have happened.

For example in a similar case in Spalding, Katie Edwards and her boyfriend planned a double murder at MacDonalds in the days before and along the riverbank. The two fourteen-year-olds then planned a faked break-in, performed their killings of Katie's own mother and younger sister, all because Mum didn't approve of her boyfriend.

So, no, not as unlikely as you might think. Just because the murder was scandalous, it doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Now.... who was it who was saying something about logical fallacies....??!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! All I can say is that it's a very good job I quit trying to replace my hitherto-trusty Irony-o-meter :D

This thread is now way, way down the rabbit hole of Vixen's making. Like mentioned above, we're only talking about house prices in West Seattle because Vixen has this silly narrative that the victim had been a snob, and Knox had been a hayseed who'd fallen off a truck in the big city.

It's time for another, "even if". The Italian Supreme Court's logic in assessing all the other silliness Nencini had used to convict.

Even if true, house prices in West Seattle **still** don't put either Ak or RS in the murder room at the time of the murder.

Let's not go down Vixen's rabbit hole. Remember she's the one who bragged that all her stuff comes from court documents!

It's absolutely insane. From so many perspectives. The jealousy motive is absolutely moronic. Amanda may have a bit of a hippie attitude about her. Outdoorsy and athletic. But its not like she hasn't been exposed to wealth and privilege. Seattle Prep is an exclusive private school. Their parking lot is filled with Porches and BMWs and these are what the kids drive. There are plenty of snobby rich kids that attend Prep I can assure you that.

Amanda has really no reason to be jealous of Meredith's money or anything else. Here she is dating a Doctor's son who has his own place, has a maid and drives a BMW. (Could be wrong about his car. But I think I read that is what he drove) I'm left thinking what does she have to be jealous of? And even if she might have been (despite the lack of evidence to support this theory) why would two boys she barely knew join in on her insanity?

Vixen has created a backstory with nothing to prove it. She doesn't know Meredith, she doesn't know Amanda, she doesn't know Raffaele and granted neither do I or most of the people on this forum. But we don't make up a motive and narrative out of whole cloth.

Her deductions don't follow the evidence. As my friend use to say "you can't get there from here".

What I really love about this discussion about Amanda's neighborhood. Vixen who lives in England Finland and has no idea what Seattle is like is telling some of us who hail from Seattle what it's like. This is like Donald Trump. Vixen just makes up a story and fills in the details and then defends it when she's called out on it.

FIFY

It is how Knox' neighbourhood was described at the time. Just a straight forward statement of fact, not a value judgment.

In fact, the late Morty Toad (Martin Bernier), a Seattle resident, said much the same thing. He mentioned Knox would have had to cycle some distance to her college (school?) every day along a busy thoroughfare. He thought she had it relatively tough in that respect.

You claim it is just minutes from down town. Which one of you is correct? Why would you need to have a long cycle trek in that case?

Knox probably did feel a bit rough around the well-spoken well-mannered 'British birds', who were there doing serious studies towards their degrees.

Hey Vixen: why did John Kercher walk out on his wife and children when Meredith was just a kid? Eh? Eh? And what lasting effects must that have had on the young Meredith?? Eh? Eh????

Only kidding :) Of course it would be disgusting and inappropriate to try to engage in some uninformed cod-spychology "analysis" about the obviously sad breakdown of someone's parents' marriage and its effect upon that person. Wouldn't it?

Or would it be less disgusting and inappropriate to do so when it all aided to justify one's warped mindset in the unjustified and unjustifiable vilification of that person......?

It's justified when trying to understand the motive of a person who commits what seems to be a senseless murder.

There you are with your fabled ESP again. You must be talented.

And the big question.... so? None of this relates to what ANY court found. What does your fabled ESP say about that?

No it's not. You've got a bizarre theory that no court agrees with. Even the convicting courts had motives wildly different from yours. Yet you feel entitled to press on.

Linda Kulman would put a neutral diplomatic slant on it, wouldn't she?

Hoo, boy. Where to begin when presented with such a pathetic, desperate attempt to avoid admitting you were wrong that Kulman wrote WTBH? Kulman has never been listed even so much as a co-author and said HERSELF that she was a 'contributor'. But, according to you, she was just trying to be "neutral" and "diplomatic" for some unknown reason.

What I would like to know is just how YOU would know that Kulman really wrote WTBH? Did Kulman take you into her confidence and reveal this secret?Come on, Vix, tell us how YOU know this otherwise unknown 'fact'?

As for living in a working-class neighbourhood, and I believe West Seattle is, it doesn't mean poor or shabby, does it?

No, it doesn't. So can you explain why you claimed it was "run-down" (post #2646)

I wasn't commenting on the state of Edda's house, which is probably her making the most of what she could do on her teachers salary and Curt withholding child support.

Not her house directly but you did state that "Curt and Cassandra lived in a nicer neighbourhood(#2646) which, besides being totally untrue, was a blatant attempt to present Curt not caring for Amanda and Deanna as much as his two younger daughters. This little gem from you supports that sad attempt:
...with Daddy abandoning you as a kid to start a family with another woman."
Yep, Curt bought a house two blocks away from her and was totally involved in her life* yet you somehow spin that into "abandoning" her. Your logic is well...not logical.
*(try reading WTBH)

I repeat again, you have no evidence that Curt wasn't paying child support and that instead, Edda went to court to request a change in the amount of support paid, do you? Do you?

The house looks pretty standard. Are you claiming it is special?

Yes, it's a pretty standard middle class house in a very desired neighborhood. Which is all we've ever said. And no, I never said it was 'special' and provided a picture of it. Just how does your brain work? It was YOU who described it as being in a 'run down, working class neighborhood'.

By the way, Curt was a Vice President of Finance at Macy's (a very nice store) and Edda was a mathematics teacher with a master's degree. Hardly "blue collar".

Cassandra may have lived two blocks away but they were definitely in a nicer house and better off.

LOL! Stop talking about things you know nothing about. Their houses are very comparable. Curt's is 30 sq ft. bigger but Edda's is worth more.

Compare the two houses.

So I was right.

No, you were not. You described it as a "run down blue collar" neighborhood.

Run down it mostly certainly is not. Not that you would purposefully misrepresent anything but you somehow 'forgot' to include this from the same Holland Residential description:

But, for those who want quick access to the clamor and commotion of a big city as well as the harmony of a small town, West Seattle (or “the Peninsula” as it is sometimes affectionately known) is the best of both worlds.

What equates to about 16 square miles of land contains about a dozen distinct neighborhoods as well as old-growth forests, sandy beaches, mountains, and breathtaking views of Puget Sound. The Duwamish River that separates the region from the city proper serves as both a feature and a deterrent creating an almost self-contained city that is only minutes away from the bustle of downtown.

West Seattle is home to about 12% of the city’s overall population, but it feels like a small town with its close-knit neighborhoods and leafy suburbs, each characterized by their own mix of old cottages and craftsman-style homes, state-of-the-art condominiums, and stately manors that overlook Puget Sound.

When you dig in, you don't care how deep a hole you dig for yourself.

Knox probably did feel a bit rough around the well-spoken well-mannered 'British birds', who were there doing serious studies towards their degrees when they weren't partying and getting drunk.

FTFY

Giacomo Silenzi was next, and he didn’t live up to his surname. He was pretty open about the drug use. He told police, “Me and my friends use hashish. Meredith used hashish too.” He said that he and the other men usually procured the drug on the duomo steps, as the girls were in no condition for commerce. “The women would often come home drunk,” he said.
Burleigh, Nina. The Fatal Gift of Beauty: The Trials of Amanda Knox (p. 179). Random House, Inc.. Kindle Edition.

As we were leaving the car park at the end of the evening, we met Meredith and Sophie— Sophie was drunk— with another woman I don’t know. Meredith asked me if we could take them home, given the state Sophie was in.”

Stop trying to present the British girls as some kind of paragons of sobriety and hard work instead of what they were: typical students who liked to party, drink, smoke pot and just generally have fun. Why does everything for you have to be extremes of black and white?

It might be if what you wrote was based on actual fact instead of your warped imagination and/or misrepresentation of facts.

Guys, Vixen just needs some attention. Please be nice. There are no soap operas on on Saturday and the new edition of her favorite tabloids aren't on newsstands until Monday. What else is she supposed to do? AMANDA IS SUCH A WHORE WHY IS SHE SO PRETTY AND SUCCESSFUL WE HAD HER IN PRISON DAMNIT.

You know, there are probably still people on the 9/11 forums claiming that there were no planes back in 2001. Just sayin'...

There definitely are. Some people are just so deeply emotionally entrenched in their version of 'the truth' (despite accepted contrary evidence) that they think everyone else is delusional. :boggled:

Cite your source. I doubt she described as you did.

Who cares what a dedicated PGP twitterer had to say?

Amanda lived at U of WA so she didn't have to cycle to school. Remember that April Fools' joke she played on her UDub college ROOMMATE that the PGP love to claim was somehow a terrifying prelude to the 'faked burglary'? Duh!

Even if she did cycle to uni (which she didn't) she does state her in book that she chose UDub which was
...a bike ride from my parents' houses.

Good lord, woman, can you at least do a modicum of research before posting?

How does an Audi differ from a BMW in context of acbytesla's point which you failed to address?

It doesn't matter Stacy. Vixen's theory about Amanda being jealous was something she made up in her head as was the conspiracy where Amanda got two boys she barely knew to kill her roommate of a month.

What's interesting to me is that neither Amanda or Raffaele have ever been accused of violence before the murder or since. You would think in the 60 years of life between them there would be some history of the psychopathic behavior Vixen is convinced that is part of their nature.

I'm really curious if Vixen will ever conclude that she got this wrong? Does she wake up some day and admit even to herself she may have made a bad call? Or is this like her religion where this has become a matter of faith. That she has put a flag in the ground and despite the overwhelming evidence defend it to her dying day?
