Next court case in Scotland started today, this time its an attempt to ensure Boris sends the letter requesting an extension that he insists he won't.

Passion for France? That's it then. He's a traitor. France supported the Argies against the Brits in the Falklands War.

We have long memories.

Utterly untrue. France helped the UK keep any new exocets away from Argentina

ffs Vixen, if you're posting some irony at least put a ;) after it.

"How France helped us win Falklands war, by John Nott. FRANCE was Britain's greatest ally during the Falklands war, providing secret information to enable MI6 agents to sabotage Exocet missiles which were desperately sought by Argentina, according to Sir John Nott, who was Defence Secretary during the conflict"

I am only going by what Rugby fans have told me during the Six Nations.

As mentioned, it’s not a two-party system by any stretch. Only recently we had a Con-DUP alliance and before that a Con-Dem coalition. This is not to mention the SNP who dominate the Scottish constituencies and Plaid Cymru who have a fair amount of support in Wales, and of course the Brexit Party who won a string of seats in the EU elections and whose earlier incarnation UKIP scared the Conservatives into pandering to anti-EU sentiment in the run-up to and aftermath of the European election.

That said, both main parties are headed up by Mickey Mouse so we shall see soon enough what voters make of them.

You are right about the UK not being a strict two party system, but I think my point that good many voters will blindly vote for whoever is heading the party tickets holds.

Pfftt - too short term. Some still gloat over Agincourt

It goes both ways. Some once said the main reason why many French Navy officers tend to be strongly Anti British is they can never forgive the British for winning the Battle of Trafalger.

Re the Scotland Ireland Britain Bridge.
Even if it was started, Scotland would probably be no longer part of the UK by the time it was finished the way things are going.

ANd yeah, Johnson and the Tories are doing their best to do a Trump imitation.
And if the opposition is smart, they will point this out at every opportunity.

I want the Scottish judges to hold Johnson in contempt of court for not ending the proroguing of Parliament.

I would think the Nile would be a bigger sore point from that era.
Even bigger is the RN attack on the French ships in Mers-el-Kébir in 1940. Over a thousand french sailors were killed.

Fact is the UK had a undeclared war going with Vichy France from Mers el Kebir on. In Syria in 1941 and Madagascar in 1942 there were full scale land military campaign by the UK against Vichy Forces.
Very good book called "England's Last War With France" on that topic.
Hell, in Operation Torch, US forces fought Vichy on land and in the Naval Battle of Casablanca.

There is a bridge between Denmark and Sweden, without affecting the sovereignty of either.

Arlene Foster denies DUP would ever be willing to consider a customs border in the Irish sea.

In Brexitspeak that means the next time the WA comes up for vote (right after prorogation, most likely), the Irish backstop will be the way EU initially wanted it to be, BJ will tout that as a tremendous success of his negotiation and DUP will vote in favor.

It'll probably still fall flat if EU agrees to an extension. Why throw away a perfectly good evisceration of the Tories at the elections?
