He's never been wrong about anything in his entire life. Just ask him.
Actually, I think it's because he does not want people to see what a lousy golfer he is.
As someone who has been golfing for over 20 years, based on the footage we have of Trump golfing, Trump is a duffer if ever I saw one.
That is their strategy. Any win for the other side is a loss for their side. Therefore lose/lose is the preferred option.
The worst is when the guy next to you has two curtain rods, and won't give you one without you give something in return, and you have nothing he wants.I'm always reminded of that saying about people being willing to live in a cardboard box under a bridge, roasting sparrows on a curtain rod over a campfire, as long as they could be sure that the person in the next box over didn't have a curtain rod.
The realization isn't good enough, because Trump's response to definitive proof that he's wrong is to double-down on the false information in defiance of reality and dismiss the evidence as "fake news".
Case in point: On Sunday, Trump wrongly stated that Alabama was at risk of damage from Hurricane Dorian. After the National Weather Service made clear to the public that Alabama was nowhere near the projected path, Trump asserted that FEMA had told him otherwise and reiterated again that Alabama was in danger even after the NWS's correction.

We are doing very well in our negotiations with China. While I am sure they would love to be dealing with a new administration so they could continue their practice of “ripoff USA”($600 B/year),16 months PLUS is a long time to be hemorrhaging jobs and companies on a long-shot....
....And then, think what happens to China when I win. Deal would get MUCH TOUGHER! In the meantime, China’s Supply Chain will crumble and businesses, jobs and money will be gone!
I don't know if I entirely agree with this statement. The only things Trump has bragged about have been the economy and unemployment. The rumor was his entire 2020 POTUS run was going to be based on the economy. I agree that he generally doesn't care about anything, but I think he needs the economy to win and winning is something he does care about...a lot.

It seems to me that progressives are extremely anxious about the idea of someone else having a curtain rod that they don't have.
What a load of nonsense.
Apparently he plays golf like he approaches everything - instinctively, without bothering to consult anyone who knows about it, and he cheats a lot.
Eh, progressives are more about the idea that both of you living under a bridge roasting sparrows on anything is not good enough. Perhaps if you both joined your abilities together, you might both make a better life...in a house each with stoves to cook your sparrows in??The worst is when the guy next to you has two curtain rods, and won't give you one without you give something in return, and you have nothing he wants.

Oddly, I read somewhere a while ago an opinion from someone who I think had played golf with him that he was a pretty good player, but that he cheated routinely anyway even though he didn't have to.Apparently he plays golf like he approaches everything - instinctively, without bothering to consult anyone who knows about it, and he cheats a lot.

Yeah, pretty much.
A "Duffer" is just about the worst thing a golfer can call another golfer. A really, really, bad player.

Trump's problem is he sees golf not as a game but as yet another opportunity to "win". What we call cheating, i.e. not playing by the game's rule-book, is irrelevant to Trump. It's his ball, his clubs, his golf-cart, his links, ergo his rules. So he will play golf how ever the hell he likes, and will win because he always does, and FU. And if that means mulligans, lopping some numbers off his card, getting his flunkies to "help improve his lie and hinder others", and any other get-ahead tactics, that's what he will do.Trump's problem is, he does care, just not enough to actually try to improve his game. He prefers to cheat, instead of either chilling out and enjoying himself, or actually learning how to golf better.
I think he's out of his depth in most things. It's almost as though Trump is out of his depth.
I think he means the next election doesn't he? IOW China would have to face another 4 years and so he sees his hand strengthened. That line says it all: when I win. That is his mindset. It's all about him "winning". Egomaniac.
