There Will be Blood: Boston's Straight Pride Parade.

I tell you what: nothing warms the heart quite like seeing the counterprotestors dwarfing the a-hoes. Reassuring that whatever went wrong in the 2016 Presidential election, the good guys have snapped out of it and are mobilized to action. The battle lines are clearer than ever and one side clearly has the will of the people.

This observation probably won't make them like her more:

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) on Saturday called out participants in Boston's "Straight Pride Parade," saying it should have been called the "I-Struggle-With-Masculinity" parade.
"For men who are allegedly so 'proud' of being straight, they seem to show real incompetence at attracting women to their event," Ocasio-Cortez said in a tweet accompanied by a video showing marchers. "Seems more like a 'I-Struggle-With-Masculinity' parade to me."

Obviously, women just aren't as proud of being straight as real men are.

That just proves their inferiority.

As much as I think the march is incredibly stupid, I am struggling to see why people bothered protesting it.

'Straight Pride' parade in Boston draws counterprotesters (CNN)

(CNN)A "Straight Pride" parade in downtown Boston attracted counterprotesters -- and a heavy police presence -- resulting in almost three dozen arrests.
A large number of counterprotesters taunted marchers Saturday and chanted "Alt right, get off our streets, no justice, no peace." Counterprotesters outnumbered the parade participants, CNN affiliate WCVB reported. Boston's mayor also condemned the parade, and encouraged residents to attend block parties and other events that celebrated the city.
Thirty-four people were arrested at the parade, said Boston Police Officer James Moccia, a department spokesman. Four officers also suffered non-life threatening injuries, he said.

Although CNN doesn't say so, it appears that those arrested were on the counterprotester side.

US police fire pepper spray after pro-Trump 'Straight Pride' parade (Yahoo News)
Boston (AFP) - US police fired pepper spray Saturday after counter-demonstrators accused them of protecting "Straight Pride" advocates who support President Donald Trump, and refused to let officers re-open a road.
Let me pause here to note that the police are being accused of literally doing their job, which is to prevent violence on both sides, and yes, to protect people exercising their constitutional right to free speech.

But after the "Straight Pride" group had dispersed, the counter-protesters accused police of protecting "Nazis," chanted "shame on you" and formed a human chain which police tried to get through, an AFP photographer said.

Officers fired pepper spray and made several arrests.
. . .

An AFP photographer saw the remains of several US flags that had been burned.

Before the more serious unrest, a couple of counter-demonstrators scuffled with police and threw dirt and eggs at them.

Analysis: A successful trolling. The counter-protesters appeared more violent, more unreasonable, less patriotic, less able to understand what free speech means than the marchers.
Critics say the "Straight Pride" organizers are white-supremacists whose intent is to bait members of the LGBT community in Boston.
And if that was their intent, then they succeeded. The "bait" was taken.

BTW, I don't support anything that these marchers stand for. I just think that the response is not the proper response. Attacking the police, burning flags, violent acts. These all put the counter-demonstrations in a very bad light. The best response to a troll is to ignore them. Trolling is trying to provoke a negative response, and doing so is taking the bait that has been set forth.

It can't come as a surprise to anybody that the organizers "have ties to far-right organizations," but why do these idiots think that they "advocate on behalf of the straight community"? lt must be the same misunderstanding as when white supremacists think that they represent a race.

What the hell is the straight community? Is it near the black community by any chance?

Yes, who isn't less patriotic than Nazis?

Yes, who isn't less patriotic than Nazis?

Idiots doing a pointless march about being sexually straight to troll the left makes them Nazis?

The bar for being a Nazi seems to have gone down significantly.

Trouble for the left is they tend to always fall for and react to trolling.

No, being Nazis makes them Nazis! You didn't read a single one of the articles about the organizers and their friends?!

I was assuming that not everyone on it has that close a connection to the organisers.

But if you want to go that route

Does this mean every person protesting these things is a violent ANTIFA thug equivalent

If you're taking part in a parade organised by Nazis then you deserve to be labelled a Nazi IMO.

I don't know. If it was clear that all the protests were organised by violent AntiFa (when did being an anti-Fascist become a bad thing by the way ?) thugs then if you join said protests then you deserve to be labelled as such.

It's a moot point because the protests had a broad support.

Which logically would mean you think every one who voted for Trump not first finding out what a racist, misogynistic scumbag he is, should be labelled a racist, misogynistic scumbag.

Or does your rule vary?
