The Trump Presidency 15

I wonder if he really thinks Denmark can or will sell off part of its territory. Of course, since Greenland is partly autonomous, the people of Greenland might want to sell themselves to the US.

.... I rather doubt it, though.

Hey, everybody has a price.

Of course, it may be completely unreasonable for the other side, but hey, the question is not "Will you sell?" but "How much would it take to buy it from you?"

Article embedded in tweet, with highlights (and a link to the report itself) in subsequent tweets. Worth noting is the last tweet in the thread:

The hardest part I have with the "there is more to come" is, why should I give a **** if they aren't going to actually do anything about it?

I've repeatedly heard, seen and discussed how many laws\rules\polices Trump has broken. I'm still sitting here thinking, "it doesn't really appear to ******* matter since nothing will happen to him."

It's getting old. /rant

Indeed. The day will come when showing video footage of the president dressed as a cat and pooping in a litter box will get no response beyond "I expected him to be a tabby rather than a calico".

It appears Trump insulted one of his supporters at a rally, but then called to make it up to him afterwards.

"That guy’s got a serious weight problem. Go home, start exercising," Trump said at the rally in Manchester.

"Get him out of here, please. Got a bigger problem than I do,” Trump added. “Got a bigger problem than all of us. Now he goes home and his mom says, 'What the hell have you just done?'"

Don't worry though, the guy made the excuses for Trump so that it would be easier.

“He didn’t see me rip the signs away from those three people that were sitting near us, and they were trying to cause a ruckus,” Dawson told Fox. “It wasn’t going to happen beside me because I’m trying to listen to my president.”

“I think he thought I was part of it, but I wasn’t. I was the good part of it,” Dawson added.

...

“I love the guy," Dawson told Fox. "He’s the best thing that ever happened to this country."

I've been there for a while.

"Trump can't do that..."

He can do whatever he wants until someone stops him.

That's my definition of incorruptible: Someone whose prize is far higher than his value.

But I can't see how Denmark could legally sell the land of 50,000 citizens.

Obviously, they'll be evicted by the new owner.

As I was starting to type this, I realized what he might want it for - a solution to the immigration problem. On Mad TV, they had a recurring series of sketches that parodied old science fiction serials. They were set in the distant future (modern day) and it was periodically mentioned that all African Americans had been relocated to "the separate but equal continent of Antarctica". :D

I'm confused.

Trump says China is paying the tariffs, that the costs are not being passed through to consumers.

Trump delayed the Sept 1 tariffs until Dec 15 because he did not want the resulting additional cost to consumers to adversely impact the Christmas shopping season.

So, the tariffs don't affect consumers but they affect consumers.

I misspoke, it's not me that is confused.

The same way Trump is going to bring back jobs when he's made the best economy and lowest unemployment ever.

The same way he built the wall and solved immigration but needs money to build the wall because of the border crisis.

These things should be added to Varoche's list.

I think I figured out why Trump wants Greenland. He is thinking that they will name it after him.

Oh, I was thinking it's because he's increasingly senile and it's getting more obvious.

Of course Trump knows better. This is one of two things, or both: He's day dreaming, and/or he just wants attention.

I guess we've wanted to buy Greenland three times from 1885 or so (for trade route access?) till the late fifties (missile defense/warning?).
There were decent reasons then for the idea.
Now however, what... his legacy?
