How about the detention of American citizens in detention centers meant for immigrants?
Don't forget to carry your paperwork with you!
If that's what you think is sad about this story I'm surprised. The sad thing is an 18-year-old U.S. citizen being swept up in anti-immigrant hysteria and held for 3 weeks. He shouldn't have made the mistake of hanging out with his brother. This would be sad even if he weren't a citizen, but arguably it would be justifiable.
Remember back when skepticism was all about inviting kooky people to prove their outlandish claims in public? The idea was to open minds, IIRC.
It's only being called a joke because it didn't land.
If this had been said at a rightwing echo chamber, no one would be calling it a joke, nor defending it as ine.
Exactly. One of the few real jokes I can think of Trump telling is when he said he loved kids and wasn't bothered by one crying. No one found it funny and the ejected the child accordingly.
I like how an off-the-cuff remark that Brennan made during a panel discussion morphs into a “left-wing standard”.
How about this standard?
While the evidence does not conclude that the congresswoman committed a crime, it also does not exonerate her.
In the minds of many lefties, that's enough to prove guilt.

As far as obstruction, the Mueller report laid out facts on both sides but did not reach a conclusion. Barr’s letter said that “the Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.’”

Well, she came here and we fed her, we clothed her, she got welfare, she got [schooling], she got healthcare, and then, lo and behold, she has the honor of actually winning a seat in Congress, and she says we’re a terrible country? I think that’s about as ungrateful as you can get,” continued the senator.
Provide a 400+ page official report detailing 10 different instances in which Omar committed the crime that you and other conspiracy theorists are alleging took place and you might be on to something.
Until then, at least you’ve admitted that your initial “standard” was bogus, so we’ve made a little progress.
When did the Minnesota Star Tribune become a conspiracy rag?
The left was claiming Trump/Russia conspiracy long before the 400+ page report was available, why change the standard for Omar?
Thank you for sparing me from a ragepost :9.That's because Trump's dealings with Russia were in plain sight and obvious to everyone in the world except Trump supporters (though I suspect it was obvious to them as well, they just don't care about it).
