"SEND HER BACK!" Will they defend this?

Just in case anybody thinks this recent incident is an anomaly, here is a list of previous racist things Trump has done, including one where he admits that it is "probably true" that he once said that it's his honest opinion that "laziness is a[n inherent] trait in blacks".

If you haven't seen this, well, you should: CNN's Victor Blackwell reacts to Trump's attacks on Cummings and the Squad.

I think the Dems need to give Trump as much rope as possible and even egg him on. Yeah, he's invigorating that deplorable minority, but they were going to vote for him, anyway. He's disgusting the decent folk in the country and it's already told in 2018 and will tell in 2020. The citizenry is going to come to the 2020 election, IMHO, with an overall thought.... Enough Of This Feces! They are war weary, shell-shocked, and angry.

If I was the Dems, I'd send nothing but black congress critters to the border facility inspections. He's compulsive and pathological and as long as he has Miller writing his tweets, he will continue to go full bore racist.

How about the detention of American citizens in detention centers meant for immigrants?

Don't forget to carry your paperwork with you!

That won't stop them.

"A US-born Marine veteran who served in Afghanistan had his US passport, a REAL ID driver’s license, a military ID card, and his US Marine Corps dog tags with him when he was arrested by police in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which held him for three days before his lawyer demanded his release, according to the ACLU of Michigan."

They are above mere trifles like the constitution.

If that's what you think is sad about this story I'm surprised. The sad thing is an 18-year-old U.S. citizen being swept up in anti-immigrant hysteria and held for 3 weeks. He shouldn't have made the mistake of hanging out with his brother. This would be sad even if he weren't a citizen, but arguably it would be justifiable.

There is nothing new about ICE detaining citizens, at least this was only 3 weeks not three years so the statued of limitations on the wrongful detention runs out.

It's only being called a joke because it didn't land.

If this had been said at a rightwing echo chamber, no one would be calling it a joke, nor defending it as ine.

Exactly. One of the few real jokes I can think of Trump telling is when he said he loved kids and wasn't bothered by one crying. No one found it funny and the ejected the child accordingly.

What? You don't remember Trump's hilarious stand-up routine at the Al Smith dinner?

I like how an off-the-cuff remark that Brennan made during a panel discussion morphs into a “left-wing standard”.

How about this standard?

While the evidence does not conclude that the congresswoman committed a crime, it also does not exonerate her.

In the minds of many lefties, that's enough to prove guilt.

That passage in the Mueller report isn't what proves Trump's guilt, the many pages of descriptions of Trump's obstruction proves it.

No, it's not. It's also not a correct paraphrase of what Mueller's report said or how Barr summarized it.

As far as obstruction, the Mueller report laid out facts on both sides but did not reach a conclusion. Barr’s letter said that “the Special Counsel states that ‘while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him.’”

Provide a 400+ page official report detailing 10 different instances in which Omar committed the crime that you and other conspiracy theorists are alleging took place and you might be on to something.

Until then, at least you’ve admitted that your initial “standard” was bogus, so we’ve made a little progress.

When did the Minnesota Star Tribune become a conspiracy rag?

The left was claiming Trump/Russia conspiracy long before the 400+ page report was available, why change the standard for Omar?

That's because Trump's dealings with Russia were in plain sight and obvious to everyone in the world except Trump supporters (though I suspect it was obvious to them as well, they just don't care about it).

Thank you for sparing me from a ragepost :9.

You seem to be the expert, so I’ll leave that question to you.

We have email exchanges in which a senior member of the Trump campaign gleefully accepts a meeting with someone offering the support of the Russian government.

We have the numerous lies that followed to cover up that meeting and hide its true to intent.

You have a screenshot of an Instagram post.

The bodies of evidence are not even remotely comparable, so the standard remains intact.

Well, excuse me, but in the minds of many lefties, what Mueller actually said just means that we better take a good look at the evidence. Unless you're disputing the factual claims in the report, there is certainly evidence of obstruction of justice, at least. Trumpers are desperately trying to find some reason to ignore that, but as Mueller said, the report speaks for itself.

ETA: And, by the way, the reason that lefties keep referencing that Mueller quote is not to say that it proves Trump is guilty, but that it proves that Trump is a liar. But you knew that.

I recall details of Trump's crimes basically rolling out in real time.

I recall hearing salacious innuendo about Omar that seems over time to expand and sprawl into every imaginable moral offense like a daytime drama, and only in the aftermath of high-profile attacks against her.

"What will we find out about her tomorrow? Be sure to tune in!

This episode brought to you by..."
