The Trump Presidency 15

It seems to me CNN has been writing this same analysis for years now. I mean, how many "unprecedented chaos in Washington" columns can you write?
For as many incidents of (increasingly) unprecedented chaos as occur?
Is there a mathematical limit on polarization, where people just spontaneously get so exhausted by their own outrage they all decide to hold hands and sing "Kumbaya"?
If you think you're gonna sing Kumbaya in the key of G instead of A, I'll fight you to the death!

"Oh man someone took a crap in the salad bar."
"HA! Jokes on you! He did it ironically because he knew it would make you mad!"

Nah, it's primarily satirical, whereas your post is primarily self-righteous. And bitter. And dull. But good luck with that!

And the irony: Russia is their friend.

:id:

AS I said before this isn't even the McCarthy freakout, it's just the usual "strategy" of grafting the word "communist" onto whatever it is that perceived black and Hispanic leaders are doing. Just another way of saying "These darkies can't be good Americans like us good white people are."

For as many incidents of (increasingly) unprecedented chaos as occur?
"Washington broken" is a slightly new angle, but Washington's been broken for, like, 10 years ...

If you think you're gonna sing Kumbaya in the key of G instead of A, I'll fight you to the death!
My Trump relatives aren't saying much about Trump these days. The whole presidential election buildup is going to be cringe-worthy ... watching Democrats tear each other down but still I hope prevail over a unified GOP which I think may become less unified as people realize Trump's presidency has been a net negative, no matter how much they like to troll libs.

A troll on the internet writes that Ilhan Omar married her brother, that she praised al Qaeda, she hates the US. Who is this moron? Turns out to be none other than the president of the United States.

During President Trump’s rally tonight in Greenville, North Carolina, he took aim at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN)..."Omar has a history of launching vicious anti-Semitic screeds," the president said. The MAGA crowd knew just what to do next. “Send her back! Send her back! Send her back,” the audience chanted as Trump soaked it in for a few moments. Link

Trump's just jealous that everyone else gets to read the back of a shampoo bottle while they're washing their hair in the shower.

He has to take his moptop rug (top quality hand-stitched at his sooper seekrit Chang'an factory) to the dry cleaners once a week to get steam sanitized and reglued.

The poor bastard....

It's been a gradual process. Just keep pushing the limits knowing that this one thing won't break the system. Then one day you realise that all those one things add up to failure.

It's nice to see that his cultists have abandoned the whole "we're not racist!" thing and just started more or less shouting "Go back to Africa!" like they've wanted.

On the other hand...

Greenvillle's not exactly a huge city, with a strong police force, and it does have a fairly strong black community, some of whom I know. I'm a bit worried that these Klanish maniacs will go out and decide to attack people for not being white. Most of them won't, of course - they're the sort that sneak up later to pose in front of the lynched body and collect a knuckle, but too weak to actually do anything to a living person.

Is he just doing rallies at smaller and smaller towns or did this rally have some alleged ‘support this guy’ reason?

I assume they are campaign rallies at this point.

Good, I guess, that these people out themselves. I do not think they will prevail. But I can't be certain.

I don't think racists realize that Trump can get away with these things, but the rest of us commoners must obey the laws of civil society.

A video posted to social media shows a suburban gas station clerk telling a customer to “go back to their country” and threatening that immigration officials will come for them.

The Facebook video posted Tuesday is less than a minute long and apparently shows a verbal confrontation at a Bucky’s Gas Station at 1576 S. Washington St. in Naperville.

The video shows a clerk behind a counter commenting on undocumented immigrants to a woman.

“I’m an American,” he says. The woman replies, “And? What is your problem?”

“Are you a citizen?” the clerk asks. “Don’t you know the rules? They need to go back to their country. It’s illegal.”

After the woman threatens to call the police, the clerk tells her, “ICE will come... You’re in the wrong country.”

Linky.

Just being a disgusting person may not do the trick, but I'd speculate there are GOP senators and Cabinet members who are alarmed at how thoroughly Trump has helped carry out Russia's agenda.

See? Democracy doesn't work! Look at the USA - its leaders are weak.

....the thing is, that this doesn't seem to be damaging President Trump or the GOP to any meaningful degree. :(

I'm not sure that there is a large group of people who are shifting away from President Trump. His polling numbers are solid and, if anything, are experiencing a bit of an uptick.

The majority of white people, even those who are a little uncomfortable with the tweets, will still put that to one side come the election and vote Trump/GOP as long as the economy continues to tick along and as long as they feel comfortable financially.

If you want some numbers...

The national survey, conducted on Monday and Tuesday after Trump told the lawmakers they should “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came,” showed his net approval among members of his Republican Party rose by 5 percentage points to 72%, compared with a similar poll that ran last week.

Trump, who is seeking re-election next year, has lost support, however, with Democrats and independents since the Sunday tweetstorm.

Among independents, about three out of 10 said they approved of Trump, down from four out of 10 a week ago. His net approval - the percentage who approve minus the percentage who disapprove - dropped by 2 points among Democrats in the poll.

Trump’s overall approval remained unchanged over the past week. According to the poll, 41% of the U.S. public said they approved of his performance in office, while 55% disapproved.

Just in case you missed that, let's repeat. His approval actually ROSE with Republicans. By 5%, no less. I don't think that there's much clearer of a sign that the Republican Party completely earned the accusations of racism.

So funny fact.

Thanks for beating me to it!

The part I don't understand is:

I'm baffled as to how the **** that doesn't constitute some form of charges? The words that are stated there seem clear cut that something illegal took place. What am I missing?

I have a one word answer to your mystification. Barr.

Random stuff time, then!

Looks like NBC dug up a 1992 tape of Epstein and Trump

Trump, of course, was being Trump.

FOX blares fair and balanced message about rat-infested leftist cities

Just another example of Fox being a Republican propaganda machine. There's plenty to complain about with the MSM. CNN, for example, focuses on maximizing their profits with their choice of stories and spin. Problematic, but understandable. It's worth a reminder again that Fox focuses on helping the Republican Party do better even though it means taking a hit to their profits.

Alabama GOP Senate hopeful blames 'homosexual activities' for lack of 'good TV shows'

This bit of news is only notable in how brazenly homophobic and stupid it is.

Republicans Mike Lee and Rand Paul are blocking the 9/11 first responders bill

Quite predictable, really, given that the Republicans have pulled this crap every time.

In non-political news... Looks like the technology to provide computers input directly from the brain has progressed quite significantly.

Busting customers' chops. Great business plan. Reportedly he's been suspended from his job, whatever that means.

It's a campaign event.

That's really all these demi-Klan rallies have ever been - a way to make him feel good about himself. It's rather pathetic, when you really think about it.

His first 2020 campaign rally, IIRC, was literally weeks after the inauguration.

Perfect Stillson behaviour.

If you had any thought he could read you'd wonder if he used The Dead Zone as a blueprint. Right down to the hard hat.
