The Trump Presidency 15

I think it safe to assume that most of the time when a Trump official says he will not resign, he will be gone within a week or so.

Trump's 'Acting' Cabinet Grows With Acosta Departure

With the resigning of Acosta, the heads of Department of Defense, Department of Labor, Homeland Security, Office of Management and Budget, the Small Business Administration, FAA, OSHA, FEMA, FDA, CPSC, EEOC, ICE, USCIS, CBP, as well as the White House Chief of Staff and Ambassador to the U.N are being held by "acting" members, none of which have been confirmed by Congress.

A definent attempt to avoid consttituitonal requirements for cabienet officials.
And not a peep from the GOP who claims to be such great lovers of the COnstituion. Worst bunch of hypocrites I have ever seen.

Can "acting" cabinet members vote in a 25th Amendment situation?

Can "acting" cabinet members vote in a 25th Amendment situation?

*Shrugs* Nobody knows. It's one of those Constitutional Limbo Land that's only going to get resolved once somebody tries.

Functionally? The 25th Amendment (at least the part we're talking about here) is pointless. Tribalism makes any scenario in which it would be invoked nigh impossible.

Think how much money that's saving!

"I'm hereby ordering every department and agency in the Federal Government, to provide the Department of Commerce with all requested records regarding the number of citizens and non-citizens in our country." — President Trump

(..and more)

Hey, Cap? Although I like your posting The PDJT's Tweets here (even though I read them on Twitter every day, sometimes several times a day as new ones come in), I'd like to post a vote that seeing his retweets here isn't really necessary. I even skip over those on the Twitter page.

I vote yes and I wish people who don't want to see Trump's Tweets just ignore them or put CaptainS on ignore.

This has been brought up repeatedly and I'm pretty sure the consensus is, some of us don't have Twitter. In my case I don't want one more site to check. The reposts are convenient.

Who would win in a fight? Every resigned/fired Trump Cabinet Member or every Democrat currently seeking the Nomination?

I mean I'm not sure there's a stadium big enough to hold that many people but....

I kind of skip over them myself, but that was Trump retweeting The White House tweeting a Trump statement. It's at least something Trump himself said (whether or not he wrote it).

Trump Tweets

I am thrilled to be back in the Great State of Wisconsin with the extraordinary men & women of Derco Aerospace! We are here today to celebrate the triumphant return of American Manufacturing, and everything we are doing to keep the assembly lines rolling.

Tennessee loving Bill Hagerty, who was my Tennessee Victoy Chair and is now the very outstanding Ambassador to Japan, will be running for the U.S. Senate. He is strong on crime, borders & our 2nd A. Loves our Military & our Vets. Has my Complete & Total Endorsement!

I should have chosen this one to better make my point. I don't know who most of those retweeted people are.

Big Tech CEOs have testified before Congress that their social platforms don’t discriminate based on “political viewpoint.”
I share at the White House today proof that they do.

What's it like being a film whose social media platforms were totally shut down because owners didn't like the implications of the story?
Our team joined @LilaGraceRose & @LiveAction today at the #SocialMediaSummit in Washington D.C. to discuss this and other questions today.

Just came from the White House Social Media Summit where I had chance to stand alongside @realDonaldTrump and talk about why we need to stop Big Tech from discriminating against conservatives #Section230 #SocialMediaSummit

President @realDonaldTrump's #SocialMediaSummit was a very important event. Conservatives will NOT be silenced, and Americans' personal data MUST be protected.

Yes, that was a bad choice on my part. A White House tweet should count the same as an original Trump tweet.

I don't believe the issue of Cap posting retweets has been brought up before. The PDJT often retweets himself but I don't see a need to post those here either (unless as noted above, they are official White House messages, or are particularly pertinent. )

The headline is "Trump Drops Effort to Put Citizenship Question on Census"

Google that exact phrase, click the WSJ link and the magic occurs.

Wow, that is magic.

Sometimes on journal articles that are behind paywalls I find access by searching for the title like that.

I suspect a lot of them are Fox New minions and/or just random people he reads posting on his Twitter account.

I think they show who is influencing him and where his mind is at.

It very much has been brought up in this thread (or its antecedants). Majority opinion was that the good cap'n should continue with blessings.

Way back, Trumps tweet were pronounced to be official WH policy.

several times already.

All Trump tweets are "official Whiter House" messages. That announcement was made a couple of years ago.

By the White House.

And I wasn't. Just Trump's ReTweets. I always liked and supported Captain Swoop's efforts here. Perhaps I just never noticed Trump's ReTweets being posted here before.

Never mind.

(ETA)
Perhaps I just never noticed Trump's ReTweets being posted here before.
Um, well, I guess I did, previously. In fact, I just read a lot of posts I'd totally forgot I made.
Carry on. Please disregard this derail.
