....The Fake News is not as important, or as powerful, as Social Media. They have lost tremendous credibility <ramble snip>

This actually frightens me. When professional news sources (read: MSM) are considered less factual than social media, we have a big problem.

Some caveats: I understand that when I use the acronym MSM, I'm using a rather wide brush - this includes obviously biased news houses, both left and right. I also understand that MSM in general are struggling to survive in the current environment, and do not, on occasion (YMMV), fully corroborate their stories in the rush to publish.

However, the resources are at their disposal, and as often as not they are called out by others. Whether they acknowledge this is another matter, of course.

Sure, social media is powerful, in that it is instant and has a huge reach, but I would not for one second consider it more credible than some organisation like Reuters, as an example.

To me, social media is news by mob rule, with the associated results. As the son of an esteemed journalist, who had old school solid reporting ethics, it just sucks, and undermines the ethics of all proper journalists.

Alex Acosta informed me this morning that he felt the constant drumbeat of press about a prosecution which took place under his watch more than 12 years ago was bad for the Administration, which he so strongly believes in, and he graciously tendered his resignation....

...Alex was a great Secretary of Labor and his service is truly appreciated. He will be replaced on an acting basis by Pat Pizzella, the current Deputy Secretary

This meeting is mostly an attack against Fox, showing them that Trump considers them replaceable.
I certainly hope Trump things so....

True, there have been a few stories on Fox that have failed to praise Trump (or even shows him in a bad light.) But, as influential media supposedly is, I still think he needs people like Hannity and the Fox and Friends crew campaigning for him. (There are still probably a lot of Trump supporters who get their news from Fox rather than social media.)

Yet nothing in their about "this guy went easy on a child molester".

Won't somebody think of the children?

Do they really have a credibility problem or is that just what it's being blamed on by Trump and Fox? I honestly don't use CNN much as a news source, but not because I believe they have a credibility issue. Just because I use Google News and it tends to not show them as frequently for some reason. Probably because of my viewing habits.

Mr President, please name the top three accomplishments of your "great" Secretary of Labor.

There are no moderates left in the Democrat party. It's liberals vs. socialists now...and the socialists are winning. How can Democrats be this out of touch? @realDonaldTrump said it best: America will never be a socialist country.

Big Tech CEOs have testified before Congress that their social platforms don’t discriminate based on “political viewpoint.”
I share at the White House today proof that they do.

What's it like being a film whose social media platforms were totally shut down because owners didn't like the implications of the story?
Our team joined @LilaGraceRose & @LiveAction today at the #SocialMediaSummit in Washington D.C. to discuss this and other questions today.

President @realDonaldTrump's #SocialMediaSummit was a very important event. Conservatives will NOT be silenced, and Americans' personal data MUST be protected.

The Great Rush Limbaugh will be on @foxandfriends at 8:30 A.M. Enjoy!

When you are the big “piggy bank” that other countries have been ripping off for years (to a level that is not to be believed), Tariffs are a great negotiating tool, a great revenue producer and, most importantly, a powerful way to get......

....companies to come to the USA and to get companies that have left us for other lands to COME BACK HOME. We stupidly lost 30% of our auto business to Mexico. If the Tariffs went on at the higher level, they would all come back, and fast. But very happy with the deal I made,...

....if Mexico produces (which I think they will). Biggest part of deal with Mexico has not yet been revealed! China is similar, except they devalue currency & subsidize companies to lessen effect of 25% Tariffs. So far, little effect to consumers. Companies will relocate to U.S.

Great job by Rush Limbaugh on @foxandfriends!

What are his definitions of these three groups?

Moderates?
Liberals?
Socialists?

Seems like the "liberals" could be defined as either moderates or socialists depending on the time of day and your stereotype of Democrats.

Do they really have a credibility problem

Objectively speaking? I would say yes, there is a problem. To go slightly deeper, CNN pretty much has a pro-establishment, pro-corporate bias, and, to get more to the heart of it, by the words of the people running it, is running under shareholder theory, which is problematic in and of itself. With that said -

or is that just what it's being blamed on by Trump and Fox?

Trump and Fox are using a common propaganda tool in their propaganda pushing. Cherry picking/selective fact choice. Much like when Fox was making a huge deal about survey results that showed that most of the US doesn't think particular highly of the Democratic Party, while completely ignoring that the Republican Party was rated even worse, they're latching onto something that is true, in a limited sense, and wildly exaggerating to mask that they're overwhelmingly worse on that front.

CNN is mostly trustworthy, either way, but should be taken with a grain of salt and their biases kept in mind. Fox News is a Republican propaganda outfit that puts effort into creating a facade of legitimacy.

In random other topics of interest... Here's a not too random theory about what might have been going on with Epstein. Short version, blackmail turned profitable for a number of the blackmailed parties.

Trump's 'Acting' Cabinet Grows With Acosta Departure

With the resigning of Acosta, the heads of Department of Defense, Department of Labor, Homeland Security, Office of Management and Budget, the Small Business Administration, FAA, OSHA, FEMA, FDA, CPSC, EEOC, ICE, USCIS, CBP, as well as the White House Chief of Staff and Ambassador to the U.N are being held by "acting" members, none of which have been confirmed by Congress.

And... more. So, with Acosta, there's issues with child sex trafficking. With Acosta's replacement, looks like we've got issues with slavery.

“Things were just completely out of control,” says Allen Stayman, the top Interior Department official assigned to the CNMI from 1993 to 1999. Recruiters illegally required many foreign workers to pay fees in order to land jobs in the CNMI, causing them to go into debt that they’d have to work to pay off. Others signed “shadow contracts” in which they promised their employers not to unionize, date, or practice a religion while working in the CNMI. Some were made to sleep a dozen to a room, with barbed wire surrounding their barracks. If workers complained, the CNMI government, which had close ties to the garment industry, could deport them immediately. In 1992, Willie Tan, a top garment industry baron, paid a $9 million settlement in a Labor Department suit alleging he’d failed to pay workers overtime and the CNMI’s minimum wage of $2.15 an hour—compared with $4.25 elsewhere in the United States. The settlement was the largest in Labor Department history at the time.

This guy worked with Abramoff to defend the law breaking and undermine any action being taken to stop it, by the look of it. Still, he apparently managed to keep his hands "clean" and was also employed by Bush and Obama, so... there's some hope that he won't be completely horrible? Maybe?

Yeah... I suppose I saw this coming back when I pointed out the regulation change here during its comment period, made an official comment opposing it during the comment period, and saw the comments almost entirely filled with anti-abortion group stock comments that were, in my opinion, foolish.
