Very good numbers on the economy. Much potential for growth. Trade deals being negotiated or being set up for negotiation. We have been treated very unfairly (to put it mildly) by other countries for many years, but that is changing!

Given that no one in this thread is asserting that President Trump is an authentic Christian in any sense of the word1, perhaps disagreements about the finer points of Christianity should be taken to another thread.

The wacky Ambassador that the U.K. foisted upon the United States is not someone we are thrilled with, a very stupid guy. He should speak to his country, and Prime Minister May, about their failed Brexit negotiation, and not be upset with my criticism of how badly it was...

...handled. I told @theresa_may how to do that deal, but she went her own foolish way-was unable to get it done. A disaster! I don’t know the Ambassador but have been told he is a pompous fool. Tell him the USA now has the best Economy & Military anywhere in the World, by far...

....and they are both only getting bigger, better and stronger.....Thank you, Mr. President!

Outrage is growing in the Great State of Minnesota where our Patriots are now having to fight for the right to say the Pledge of Allegiance. I will be fighting with you! @foxandfriends

“With President Trump at the helm, not only is America getting great again, but he’s going to make our estuaries, our rivers, our water - everything better - the things he is doing, and done, are just helping America tremendously.”
Thank you to Bruce Hrobak @foxandfriends

India has long had a field day putting Tariffs on American products. No longer acceptable!

Food Stamp participation hits 10 year low. Wow!

Trump really doesn't have a clue what the job of an ambassador is, does he?
Why on earth should the UK ambassador to the US interfere with the negotiations between the UK and the EU? Except possibly to point out that the it may not be a great idea to rely on anything said by the current administration when it comes to trade promises.

For those wondering what he's talking about, one city decided not to recite the Pledge at the start of city council meetings.

I'm guessing Fox News spun it differently, kind of like the time that one class in one school sang a song about historicilly significant African-Americans, including a verse about President Obama, and Fox News turned it into children being forced to sing the praises of President Obama, with comparisons to North Korea.

Recent “strained” decisions by the United States Supreme Court, some so simple as allowing the question, “Are you a citizen of the United States” on our very expensive Census Report, or the even more strained decisions (2) allowing the world’s most expensive & pathetic......

....healthcare (Obamacare) to stay in place, when it would have been replaced by something far better, shows how incredibly important our upcoming 2020 Election is. I have long heard that the appointment of Supreme Court Justices is a President’s most important decision. SO TRUE!

Weren't we going to have the best and cheapest healthcare? He said he was going to make that happened because it was simple.

It's almost like he's a lying sack of ****.

Yes, that was barely a blurb in the local news.

I might have been told before, but what's the issue with the citizenship question? The questionaire is anonymous, correct? And I can understand why the state would like to know how many voting citizens there are as opposed to total inhabitants.

Voter registration already informs the state how many voters there are.

Because better information is already available about citizens;

The question is intended to intimidate. Many undocumented immigrants come from authoritarian countries that lie about anonymity, so they don't trust it here; they don't trust Trump.

There's significant evidence that the GOP wants to add this question because they know it will reduce participation in the census, making their gerrymandering efforts even more effective.

So even if you could come up with a non-partisan reason to include this question, that's not why the GOP has been pushing this, and it's not why Trump is vowing to fight the courts on this issue.

But after he died last summer, his estranged daughter discovered hard drives in her father’s home that revealed something else: Mr. Hofeller had played a crucial role in the Trump administration’s decision to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census.

Files on those drives showed that he wrote a study in 2015 concluding that adding a citizenship question to the census would allow Republicans to draft even more extreme gerrymandered maps to stymie Democrats. And months after urging President Trump’s transition team to tack the question onto the census, he wrote the key portion of a draft Justice Department letter claiming the question was needed to enforce the 1965 Voting Rights Act — the rationale the administration later used to justify its decision.

The goal of the GOP is to scare non-whites into not answering the Census question.
That is easy to do if there is a citizen question on the form, but in any case there will be a disinformation campaign to suppress the reply to the Census in non-white neighborhoods.

I think the bigger question is: Why add the question?

There doesn't have to be any particular thing wrong with it, though there is, but I think everyone is looking for a good reason to add it.

Now the SCOTUS ruling on gerrymandering I fear it will get much, much worse. This seems like a solution looking for a problem. I will always err on the side of the government knowing less about me.

I think the bigger question is: Why add the question?

That's exactly the issue. If the question is truly "no big deal, what's the problem with adding it?" then the other question is, if it's no big deal, why add it?

Clearly the GOP is intent on adding it for some reason. Ask them why it's so important?

Trump clearly said that, to permit better drawing of election maps. He said the quite thing quite loud and for everyone to hear.

That's....not Christian doctrine, or at least not in any I'm aware of. I remember you cherry picking Bible verses out of context as well in other subforums, some of which were parables.

And cherry picking is not at all out of the question when you're talking about an ancient patchwork quilt of a book. It'd only make sense to bring it up when arguing with a Biblical inerrantist.

Most Christians seem to give Trump a pass for some reason they'd never give Obama. The incredible hypocrisy is the problem.

Which part?

Slavery? Yes it is.

Women are the property of their fathers, their husbands or the men they were sold to. Yeah, that's Christian doctrine.

Priests being able to molest their altar boys and being protected by the church. It might not be doctrinel but it is reality.
