Video images show that the bleeding fighter, who was thought to be between 12 and 17, was brought to the SEAL platoon for treatment. Two of Gallagher’s fellow SEALs testified in a military court that Gallagher unexpectedly stabbed the young ISIS fighter several times in the neck and side as a SEAL medic was treating him. Members of the platoon then posed for photos with Gallagher as he held the child soldier’s head up by the hair with one hand, and held his knife in the other.

Gallagher never denied that he stabbed an unarmed, wounded child soldier who was receiving medical treatment and then posed for photos with the body after he died.

Gallagher was also charged with attempted murder in another case. He was court-martialed on 12 counts in all.

Describing his behavior as reckless and bloodthirsty, several men from Gallagher’s platoon said he gunned down a 15-year-old girl walking along a riverbank in Afghanistan and an old man carrying a water jug. They testified that Gallagher regularly fired into civilian crowds.

According to the military investigation, after Gallagher's fellow SEALs tried multiple times to report him for his behavior and were turned away by superiors, they resorted to messing with his rifle and firing warning shots to scare away civilians so he would miss his shots.

“They said they spent more time protecting civilians than they did fighting ISIS,” Special Agent Joe Warpinski of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service told the military court.

It's okay because the people the white SEAL killed were brown. To Trump supporters, it's only bad if people of color kill whites.

It's not what's missing it's what's working. The courts still function. The electorate put a new party in power in one house of Congress. The press is still free and independent in spite of Trump's attempts. The FBI hasn't investigated Trump's rivals. We're not there yet.

A ban on all other parties than the GOP? Mexicans being rounded up all over the States? A Kristallnacht where US soldiers vandalise shops all over the US, spray painting windows with "Don't buy from Mexicans"? People from south of the US being stripped of their rights and forced to wear a Mexican flag on their clothes? Trump annexing Mexican land?

The situation in the US is frightening, but I grow tired of people comparing it to one of the worst regimes in history. It's very far from Nazi Germany.
