I am at Camp David working on many things, including Iran! We have a great Economy, Tariffs have been very helpful both with respect to the huge Dollars coming IN, & on helping to make good Trade Deals. The Dow heading to BEST June in 80 years! Stock Market BEST June in 50 years!

"Okay, so the Iran situation is a cluster ****, but the economy is good, right? That's good, isn't it? I'm not doing a bad job, am I? See? The economy is good!"

Whatever your feelings about Fox News, this is a well-reasoned analysis by Chris Wallace and Shepherd Smith of Trump calling off the recent attack on Iranian assets:

https://youtu.be/tQ274ZgwcO8

Thanks for the video. Wallace and Smith have clearly pointed out why Trump's claim is bogus. But don't worry, facts and logic won't deter those who want/need to believe Trump isn't lying to them (yet again).

Journalist and former TV and radio celebrity alleges that Trump raped her in a department store dressing room 25 years ago.

https://www.thecut.com/2019/06/donald-trump-assault-e-jean-carroll-other-hideous-men.html
(Her account of the encounter with Trump starts about halfway through the lengthy book excerpt.)

What's really sad is that this is the first I've heard of this incident and I'm a news junkie. What does it say about the state of affairs in this country when a sitting president is accused of rape and it's not all over the news? Has a rape/sexual inappropriateness allegation become so common for Trump that it's barely mentioned?

More on what Trump said:

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-...n-told-150-would-likely-die-today-2019-06-21/

Trump's explanation implies he had no idea how many people would be killed because he'd never asked before or been informed. So he'd approved this attack and had the planes "locked and loaded" without having any idea what the casualties would be? Nonsense. He's lying per his usual.
When Trump makes up stories he doesn't get the facts straight. His imaginary self is wise and heroic. Since that isn't factual, of course the story won't be either.

How To President (in Trumpland):

1) Create problem. (walk away from treaty because... reasons)
2) Stoke the fire. (slap on more economic sanctions because... reasons)
3) Poke the hornet's nest. (fly drone 4 miles inside of other country's airspace)
4) Sit back and wait for other country to shoot at drone. (we know they have the military capability, but pretend we're surprised anyway)
5) Claim drone attack unjustified. (lie and lie some more, show some marks on a map if necessary)
6) Give the okay to launch a retaliatory ground strike. (illegal or not, who cares?)
7) Change mind at last minute and become a humanitarian hero for all the world to praise and express gratitude for these wonderful mercies bestowed upon them.

Someone check my math, I may have missed a step...

6.1) Take call from Putin advising not to start a war.

6.2) Pretend you are responding to the red line crossed, when you cancel the response, people will forget you didn't respond.

In other news... Oregon's experiencing an interesting time. Chinese curse interesting time, that is. Democrats have super-majorities in both the House and Senate. So, what are the Republicans doing? The State Senate Republicans have all been repeatedly not showing up, so as to deny a quorum, preventing legislation from passing. It's gotten to the point where all of them have quite literally fled the state and they've involved right-wing militias to complicate matters further when presented with the threat of being compelled to actually attend and vote, aka, do one of the most important parts of their jobs.
The Democrats did that in TX a decade ago trying to stop the GOP gerrymandering in between census results.

The redistricting was another typical 'ignore precedent' move by the GOP.

At the request of Democrats, I have delayed the Illegal Immigration Removal Process (Deportation) for two weeks to see if the Democrats and Republicans can get together and work out a solution to the Asylum and Loophole problems at the Southern Border. If not, Deportations start!

Actually, this about the 16th woman who has accused Trump of assaults of one kind or another, mostly made public before he was elected. So in a sense it is common. But the network news shows and the major newspapers have reported Carroll's accusation, including interviewing her on camera. It's also a case of "he said, she said" about something 23 years old. I personally believe her completely, and two women have told reporters she told them about it after it happened, but there's no supporting evidence and it's too late to press charges. So there's really no place for the mass media to go. And his followers will always believe him over anybody else.

ETA: Kellyanne Conway's husband believes her, too.

So, trump threatens the Iranians and then backs down and now he has done the same over ICE raids.

I see a pattern here.

I hope Mr. Conway realises that a "soul" is not a boomerang. Once you sell it, it ain't coming back.

What would make you believe her completely? I could see she could be telling the truth.

Can you imagine the uproar from the GOP if Obama had 16 women (or 1 or 2) make claims of sexual harassment/assault against him? He had none. Not one.

Yeah, that’s why I didn’t get too bent out of shape when I read about the Republicans doing it up north.

On the other hand, I don’t recall any of the Democrats threatening to shoot law enforcement officials. When the Oregon governor threatened to send state troopers to bring back the legislators, Oregon state senator Brian Boquist said, “Send bachelors and come heavily armed."

‘Merica!

Well, it’s not coming back without some effort. But, I kind of figure cooperating with House investigations would go a long way towards re-souling.

..,.

The fact she told two people about it at the time who have corroborated it. The fact 15 other women have claimed he attacked or behaved physically sexually inappropriately with them. The fact his own ex-wife claimed he violently assaulted her. Granted, she later walked back that claim but one has to consider the fact that this occurred after she had signed an NDA during their divorce. I strongly suspect her allegation was addressed in their divorce agreement to his favor. The fact he said on tape that he's a "***** grabber" and can get away with anything because he's a celebrity. The fact that he is a pathological liar. There are more reasons to believe her than not.

I live in Oregon and that bit from Boquist is what pissed me off the most.
