Yeah, about that: not all employers actually pay their employees for days they don't work, including holidays. Some have to work holidays anyway, others get off and just don't get paid for it. There's no law in place saying employers have to pay holidays. Or sick days.

Which is why America's great! Freedom! Or something.

I only ever had one employer give me Veterans Day off. That was the US Army, when I was becoming one.

Where did you get the idea that a holiday is "nationally mandated with pay?" Federal government workers get time off or premium pay if they work on a national holiday. Most state and local governments do something similar. But nothing other than a union contract or their own practice requires private employers in most places to give employees paid vacation time or sick leave, let alone paid holidays, and many don't. You think all those people selling mattresses on President's Day are getting double-time? Many Americans only get paid for the hours they work, which themselves might be unpredictable, and nothing more.

You don't say where you are, but Americans work longer hours with fewer legal protections than almost anywhere in Western Europe. We're still way better off than China, Russia, Mexico and a lot of other places.

What is hilarious is that these guys think this is in regards to politics as opposed to business. I use to (and still do) own large social media pages that had huge engagement and followings.. until the companies that controlled them decided that I needed to pay to reach my own followers, which had liked and followed, trying to get the content I provided.

Big business is all great until the strive for profits actually affects them.

I’m not sure that I can articulate why I consider that to be much worse than improving one’s own lie. That is a complete ****** thing to do.
