Seth Abramson (who is staring from the beginning instead of skipping around) has gotten to a part of the conspiracy section where Mueller lists all the ways his office was obstructed in its investigation.

[ETA] including outright destruction of evidence.

The obstruction section is on fire. I look forward to Mueller testifying before the house.

Now that the reports out it's time for everyone to read into it what they've already decided is true.

Someone brought up an interesting point. Shouldn't the question of what this does to Trump be secondary to the rather inarguable conclusion that a foreign power basically attacked our political system?

I'm half way tempted to think that if a nuclear missile was launched at the US we stop to figure out if Trump had anything to do with it before we shoot it down but that's not true. We'd figure out if Trump had anything to do with it or not and then lose interest and let it hit us.

Russia meddling with our elections is bad, regardless of how much Trump had to do with it. Everybody gets that right? The fact that this wasn't the smoking against Trump we all thought and hoped it would be doesn't make it something we shouldn't worry about.

Well yeah. Ideally.

Because we can only ever be concerned about one thing at a time.

And it bears keeping in mind that one of the most stalwart defenders of the Russians in the country and one of the foremost denialists of their meddling with the election is the POTUS himself.

Except that it's Trump who is largely responsible for taking the actions that would be needed to defend the US from these Russian attempts, and it's clear that he has no interest in doing that. In fact, so far we've seen he was far more concerned with ending the investigation completely, to protect himself, than he was in doing the job he was supposed to be doing.

This goes far beyond mere incompetence, or indifference. He made positive efforts to harm the US response to Russian meddling, due to his only having concern for himself.

Let's be honest about one thing.

None of the news pundits(on either the left or right) who are gonna be talking non stop about this for the next couple of days are gonna read any part of the actual report.

Even the several ones on MSNBC I just watched who were quoting from the report, giving page numbers?

Mueller seems to think a conviction is exceedingly unlikely if not a single shot was actually fired.

If Trump ordered Obstruction, that was definitely shots fired.
Just because others made sure they wouldn't hit doesn't take away from that.

Also, I assume that everyone how ignored Trump's orders is going to jail?

People love to make a big deal out of that, but it could've been worse. Imagine if there were no Russian involvement.... and Hillary won.

I thought you were talking about collusion, not obstruction.

Mueller really seems to think Trump should be impeached for obstruction. The obstruction section is a road map to impeachment.
