I agree with Minoosh and quadraginta; I think Mueller is following protocol. Assuming to know what Mueller is thinking or what he plans on doing is just speculation.

I concur. Mueller can't just circumvent the law because he doesn't have faith in the AG. And, given everything that's been said over the last couple of years about him being by-the-book, I don't think anybody can have expected him to or say it's out of character.

Barr is controlling the narrative for now. But Congress will get their hands on the unredacted report, and the truth will out.

Releasing a heavily redacted report could be worse for Trump than releasing the full report.
People are free to put their own content under the redactions.

Nah, it maintains the status quo. Those who believe that Trump did things which are nefarious still can't point to any concrete evidence of lawbreaking, and those who are inclined to believe the White House's narrative get to say "see? Totally exonerated!"

Any bets available on the %age of the report that will be redacted? I'm guessing < 10%

My wild guess is that the report will show that Trump knew about the Trump Tower meeting with the Russian lawyer and has lied constantly about doing so. Not a crime, but it will be a difficult one to wriggle out of.

Absolutely a crime. He was formally briefed by the FBI on Russian interference in August 16. Failure to report contact then, or lies about it afterward, would have been illegal.

Ladies and Gentlemen, if you have been watching Barr's press conference this morning, you will realise that Trump has found his Roy Cohn; you have been watching a political cover up in progress.

Yeah, it was pretty disgraceful. He ended by claiming it was his report, not Mueller's, which means we're not even getting the whole thing, just the parts he wants to release.

I don't even think Barr disagrees. The only collusion allegation he addresses is a straw one that was never made.
