We can try playing Trumpball, but he pretty much owns the game.

I think the supporters will never turn on him, but I suspect there is a line that marks how much the Republican Party will take before they step up and say “OK, you need to cut that **** out.” That of course will backfire and Trump will do it more. Schism occurs. Pick something like the comedy-shows-need-to-be-investigated BS. Then tweet “SNL was pretty funny last week.”

ETA if you can get him to say “we need to get rid of the federal regulations that prevent me from setting up an investigation of SNL,” then you have a chance at getting someone to say, we need a primary.

That tweet is more educational than most others. She's right, it's not up to him and they didn't ask him. Thankfully someone at least has the balls to shoot back a little snark.

I don't understand how that's not being an adult. Is snark not a thing adults do? Does every Dem have to be the pinnacle of exemplary behavior while being ridiculed and chastised by people on the other side?

The republican message is largely based on fear and bigotry. "Brown people are taking our jobs!" "We're Making Libruls cry" "They're taking our guns" is a rather simple (if incorrect) message, and its easy for a demagogue like Trump to use.

On the other hand, the Democratic message is usually much more rational, but that type of messaging requires a little more coherence behind it. It makes it a bit harder to turn into the type of empty rhetoric that such a personalty cult thrives on. (Its not impossible, just more difficult.)

I have to disagree. Left Wing rhetoric can be just a focused on fear and hate as right wing rhetoric. There is a long list of left wing demogogues who have been just as destrucjtive as those on the right.
