Fox News Host Gets Triggered by Historian

Brilliant, and so much truth.

Even those morons who see this will still fail to understand what it means.

Have you considered the possibility that they actually do understand what it means but simply don't agree that it's accurate?

I really don't understand the prevalence of the idea that the other side is just stupid. They are humans, just like you. The reasons that people hold the beliefs they do are complex, but, in general, it's not because they are stupid.

TBF it is a pretty hypocritical thing for the historian to say given most of the other sides media is owned by billionaires/millionaires

What makes it hypocritical?

The fact that many left wing org's are run by billionaires and millionaires

It is kind of a silly argument all round.

Do you not think think there are "elite" democrats?

As that would be a bit silly.

Edit: My phone was only giving me the other video

Can you explain the alleged intelligent thinking behind the decision to wear a MAGA hat and hate the minorities mentioned in pgwenthold's post?
By the way, I don't think that smart cooky denied that they were humans. What makes you think that he would consider them to be aliens?
I think that you confuse stupid with inability to think: It does require the ability to think to reach the conclusion - or just accept the idea - that foreigners, minorities, women, socialists, gays and liberals ruin your life. When doing so, your ability to think actually makes you more stupid in the process.

Did any of you watch the video (8:37) and hear what Tucker Carson had to say about Bill O'Reilly's strategy as a Fox host? What do you think of it?

Yes, obviously!

As that would be a bit silly.

Why?

I actually bothered to watch the video then.

Apart from Tucker being a twit, I fail to see where the other idiot comes off much better.

Who is "the other idiot"? Bill O'Reilly?

And when was the word "moron" * needed?

I didn't use the word. I didn't even think it.

Not stupid. Just impacted by bucketloads of what amounts to propoganda. Either that sort of stuff works or the combined advertising budget of every agency in the USA is a waste of money.

My phone only went back to the other video.

Hence my edit about him using moron

I was objecting to him calling them morons, not the idea that they are wrong. As you say it’s entirely possible to be wrong without being a moron.

that wasn’t the subject I was addressing.

By the way, I don't think that smart cooky denied that they were humans. What makes you think that he would consider them to be aliens?
not being human doesn’t equate to being alien. But anyway, my point was simply that humans of all stiles share the same basic attributes, intelligence being one. Which it does fall across a bell curve I’m not aware of any correlation between stupidity and voting patterns.

I was objecting to his statement that poor or working class people who vote republican are morons. I don’t think I’m confused about what he said.

What was?

Either that or being an animal.

Much like Trump, you seem to equate stupidity with low IQ.

He didn't say anything about classes.

The Vote - A Blank Check for State Power.

I can see why it would be tough for Trump or Tucker Carlson fans to have to watch the full 8:37 min. clip, but you owe it to yourselves to do so.
Let me help you with a few extracts from the video:

False consciousness (noun) When working-class people are tricked into accepting their exploitation.
(...)
Tucker Carlson: ”One thing you’ll learn when you grow up in a castle and look out across the moat every day at the hungry peasants out in the village is you don’t want to stoke envy among the proletariat.”
(…)
Fox News’ MO is using culture war stories to distract from right-wing economics.
(…)
Convince workers to focus their rage at targets that don’t matter. "Racist trees." And they’ll be too distracted to notice the ones that do.
(…)
The goal of Tucker’s show isn’t to challenge the elite. It’s to make sure you never realize who they are.
(…)
Tucker Carlson (about Bill O’Reilly): “I think there’s kind of a deep phoniness at the center of his shtick because it’s sort of built on this perception that he is the character he plays. He is everyman, he’s not right wing, he’s a populist fighting for you against the powers that be. And that’s great as a shtick. But I’m just saying that the moment that it’s revealed not be true, it’s over. Right? Because the whole thing is predicated on the fact that he is who he says he is, and nobody is that person. Especially not someone who makes a million dollars or many millions a year.”
Why Tucker Carlson pretends to hate elites (Youtube/Vox, April 3, 2019)

What Tucker Carlson can tell us about racist trees is amazing! :)
And, as mentioned above, the most interesting thing about it is that many posters here seem to have learned from him!
I guess professional magicians like James Randi would refer to the strategy as misdirection (Wikipedia) ...

I looked back at the photo, and yeah, I had forgotten what it said above the guy in the suspenders. I should have done so before replying to you dann, sorry.

OK

Got to a computer rather than phone.

Watched video in opening post.

Carlson was indeed triggered by obvious trolling bloke.

Pretty humorous

Did anybody pretend that other channels don't have millionaire hosts?

Nobody has criticized Tucker Carlson for being a multimillionaire. He's criticized for pretending to be an anti-elitist and making his viewers so mad at atheists, feminists, immigrants, millennials, trans people, college students, pot smokers, vegans, the NFL, Brooklyn witches, and Lena ******* Dunham that they don’t get mad at the people who are actually in charge.

Do you see the difference?

So you didn't watch that and think the bloke was personalising his interview with Carlson and Fox?

Maybe we watched different things

I thought all the "You this and you that" kind of made it kind of obvious
