I think many people, such as Barr, are very aware of that. Not all Trump supporters are deliberately obtuse. It comes naturally to some of them, but I hope there are Republicans who aren't going to sit still for a whitewash. This has the potential to affect a lot of GOP senators. Are they really going to be just fine with a four-page letter, without knowing what's in the full report?

There are vulnerable GOP senators who are going to damage themselves by going along with a coverup. I imagine that's occurred to a few of them.

We have been told in this very thread that his comment was a "joke". It was made my a man with a world renowned sense of humor so that must be true. as it was so obviously a joke one must conclude that the Russians have had absolutely no contact with anyone known to Trump for the purpose of disrupting US politics. They just don't work that way.

Are you saying the public has no right to know what a sleaze or incompetent Trump is before the 2020 election?

Not just world renowned. Trump knows more about jokes than anyone. His sense of humour is the bestest, most funniest sense of honour anywhere in the world. No-one knows humour like he does :p:thumbsup:

Yup, he posted that hilarious Biden video by accident, and it isn't hilarious because "The Resistance" needs Uncle Joe to save them from another Trump term, no matter how absolutely creepy this guy behaves in public towards women and especially little girls. And of course Trump didn't just kill creepy Uncle Joe with a single twitter shot. No that didn't happen.

When people resort to childish photoshopping and think it's funny, they've lost all right to being taken seriously as intelligent adults instead of 10 year olds who find fart jokes the height of wit.

Trump made the best joke though - "Russia, if you're listening......" well, you know. Had 'em rolling in the aisles.

Why is Trump so humor-averse? There are people who are unfunny because they are witless: Think of Second Lt. Steven Hauk, the Bruno Kirby character in “Good Morning, Vietnam.” And people who are unfunny because they are joyless: the Sgt. Major Dickerson character.

But Trump, I suspect, isn’t unfunny. He’s anti-funny. Humor humanizes. It uncorks, unstuffs, informalizes. Used well, it puts people at ease. Trump’s method is the opposite: He wants people ill at ease.

The New York Times (who does not have its own staff editorial cartoonist, nor does it feature a comics page or Sunday comics section) ain't exactly the arbiter of what is funny, you dig?

Although their "Anonymous sources say that anonymous sources are butthurt over Barr's letter" was absolutely hilarious.
