Look at this, clearly photoshopped.

I mean, look at the way she pulls away from him. She's obviously not thinking "why in the hell is this old sleezebag getting handsy", she's obviously under the control of a russian Bernie Bro Bot. So fake.

Seriously though, who the hell does that to a grown ass woman you've only just met.

Not saying the guy is a full blown predator, but he really needs to work on the concept of personal boundaries. It looks like he's been living under a rock for the past 60 years. :D

This thread is great. 90% of the posts are coming from hard core Republicans who want to bash every single Democrat. Beto is too young and comes from money. Mayor Pete is secretly a communist. Elizabeth Warren is a phoney. Biden is too friendly.

This is the game plan people. A shotgun approach to trashing anyone with a D after their name.

To be honest, they're all actual trash, except for Bernie.

That's just the facts.

Yeah.

He's definitely got issues.

Nope.

Even if Bernie Sanders isn't still the frontrunner by mid next year it's ridiculous to say any of the second, third choices are "trash", especially when you consider their competition for the general.

Yeah, it's not like you sorely need to move the Overton window back towards the left or anything.

Thank the FSM we have a thread for all these "public service announcements". It saves the dedicated GOPpers from having to start numerous thirty-post threads "just to keep us informed". Witness the Old Pro in action:

The quoted text has nothing to do with Brainster's text. It explains nothing. But it sure does introduce Mayor Pete's Marxist roots, amiright?

look at the way she pulls away from him.
But he never had any idea that such behavior might possibly be unwelcome, so she must be the first & only one who has ever done anything like that. So now that he's finally been informed, it'll definitely never happen again.

I don't think any of them are trash. I think they are all excellent. But none of them are perfect. And everyone of them are better than the lying lump of fecal matter in the position now. At least everyone of them can get through a day without lying to the American Public.

They're not telling the world, they have no business interests in Russia throughout their campaign while at the same time pursuing funding for it through Russia's biggest bank and offering an illegal inducement in the form of a penthouse apartment to the Russian head of State.

They're not telling us they'll release their taxes and then refuse to and make up a lie about being audited.
They're not saying they'll drain the swamp and then appointing every corrupt person who says nice things about them.

They're not saying they'll present a healthcare plan that is better than the ACA that will cover everyone and then not ever present one. And then think they can pull the same con on the American people in the next election 4 years later.

Your idea of trash and mine is very very different.

I'm saying there are other candidates, riding Sanders' wave or otherwise, that can accomplish something similar. Of course not the same, but given what we have now, anybody even a peg or two under Sanders' progressive ideal would be welcome.

And moving things leftward isn't something the president does alone, though he arguably has the most influence to do it.

My biggest issue with Sanders, Biden and maybe Warren is their ages. Both Biden and Sanders are like Trump in that they look old and all would be the oldest to ever hold that office.

Warren is almost the same age, but not only is she very energetic, she has the advantage of being a woman which makes her younger physically then men the same age.

I'd like to have the contrast of a younger candidate if we can,

Photoshopped or not, I just don't believe Biden is intentionally feeling up little girls.

No, it's very odd behavior that he doesn't seem to recognize is creepy even after he must have obviously heard the feedback.

On another note SG, I'm curious about which candidate you are supporting. I assume it will be a woman, but which one?

Right now I don't have a top candidate. I like Harris, Klobuchar, Gillibrand, and Booker.

Much as Sanders and Warren have the right ideas, they don't seem to me like they can win with their platforms. And the rest I don't know enough about including Beto.

I'd disagree. There are some candidates I wish weren't running but there are several good candidates, Bernie included.

I've donated a small amount to 4 different candidates so far.

Just out of curiosity has anyone else donated to multiple candidates?

I like Warren because she HAS ideas. Shes the ONLY candidate who has put forth a list of ideas on many subjects. Everybody else seems like they don't want to have to take stands on anything. It might not be the best way to get elected. But I respect it more than the pablum that most politicians serve up or the downright deceit that Trump offers.

As soon as she started saying we need to break up the big tech companies she lost me. Not that I don't think big monopolies aren't a problem, but because I don't see any big public outcry that will translate into momentum.

Wages, healthcare, undoing Trump's damage to the environment, undeserved tax breaks for the rich (that has to be approached carefully), military spending, immigration, especially undoing Trump's damage ...

The candidates have to talk to the people, not spout idealistic goals even if those goals are valid. No one cares about breaking up Amazon when they are worried about losing their health insurance.

You reckon it's not assault - be my guest and prove it. Alternatively, just retract your statement.

Now, TA, chill. Cool down.

There, that's better. Now I ask you: From that picture alone, how in the world would you expect me to "prove" it's not assault? It's an asinine request.

You might say, "Well, add in all those other pictures I posted!! The man is a world-class lecher! Prove he's not"

Poor me, I'd have the same response: There is no such thing as "proof" when you're talking about that kind of human behavior. There's only one's interpretation of someone else's behavior.

It's also a logical fallacy to make such a request. It's akin to Russell's teapot that orbits the Sun somewhere in space between the Earth and Mars. It is an assertion that cannot be falsified. Shame on you for asking it.

I think the choice should be Bernie + Warren. It covers all the liberal bases, Bernie is clearly not Trump, and in the field as it stands, he's easily the best you've got.

Sad admission, but pragmatic, I think.

Bernie's too old. Warren's no spring chicken either. If the Dems want to boost turnout, they need someone younger.

But I do agree with you (and Trebuchet) that no one so far makes me jump up and shout hosannas for them. Maybe Hickenlooper. Maybe someone will emerge from the gaggle that is now running that shows more sparkle... I hope.

Yeah, Michelle could win with even campaigning but that horse has left the barn.

Do you honestly believe that none of the Dem candidates are bought and paid for by deep-pocketed donors?

That none of them are corporatist puppets who does not give a single **** about the average USAian?

That none of them are "progressive" only on paper?

Are you really this naive?

Poor me, I'd have the same response: There is no such thing as "proof" when you're talking about that kind of human behavior. There's only one's interpretation of someone else's behavior.

Except it's entirely provable. You can replicate the exact behaviour and see if it attracts any attention from law enforcement.

Bernie's too old. Warren's no spring chicken either. If the Dems want to boost turnout, they need someone younger.

Yep, I said earlier in the thread a couple of times that Bernie's too old, but if he's all you've got, I think you have to go with him on the basis that he's at least electable. One point in Bernie's favour is that young people will vote for an older bloke - that useless twat in the UK, Jeremy Corbyn, won the Labour leadership entirely on the back of the youth vote.

Why are there no prominent young Dems? There seems to be a huge gap between the likes of AOC (attacks on whom are truly sickening, by the way) and the old, old guard of Pelosi & Schermer.

The blame for that lies entirely with the DNC.

Yang's got a bunch? So... Warren's definitely not the "only" candidate to do so. Warren's leading the field in a lot of good ways, of course. I generally favor Warren still, though, in fair part because it sure looks like she's been quite consistent about opposing corruption and undue outside influence at all levels, and that's one of the things that I definitely want to happen more. That's one of the fundamental problems that's aiding and abetting a whole lot of the rest of the problems and has been interfering with actually properly dealing with them. Fixing symptoms is great, but dealing with the underlying causes is more important for the long run.
